This is kinda random, but bear with me, 'kay? :3
Tonk is a card game. The goal is to have the lowest possible score OR get 3-of-a-kind. Players are given 3 tokens to represent "lives" or "chances". Each player is dealt 3 cards, and on his/her turn, s/he has the option of drawing a card from the deck or taking the topmost card in the discard pile, which is face-up. Additionally, a player can "tonk", or knock on the table. When a player tonks, s/he does so because s/he believes s/he has the lowest score (or lowest score they are going to get). After a player tonks, each player (other than the tonker) gets one more turn. At the end of the turns, everyone places their cards face up and totals their cards. The person with the highest score loses a token. If the tonker has the highest score, s/he loses 2 tokens. A player may also win by collecting 3-of-a-kind at any time in the game. If this happens, the player instantly wins, and everyone else loses a token. If someone tonks and one of the other players gets a 3-of-a-kind on his/her last turn, the tonker loses 2 tokens, and everyone else loses 1. When a player runs out of tokens, s/he still retains his/her "honor", which is essentially an extra life. However, the next time s/he loses, s/he is out of the game. The winner of the game is the last person with any tokens or his/her "honor" left. If the tokens are some kind of money, such as nickels, the winner takes them, or whatever prize is settled on.
That's a crash course in tonk for ya! ^_^ Nice game, eh? It's really quite simple, once you play a few rounds. If a 5-year-old can grasp the concept, then most people should be able to :3 However, success is not guaranteed! ^_^;;
So yea, that seems kinda random, but you'll see why I did it eventually. All it takes is a little spark ^_^
