Chapter 7 Part 2 Human
A few days have passed since Charlie let herself be captured to save me. The guilt was eating me, but I manage to get some distance and when night came I hid in the bushes. Soon, I was about to reach the next town when all of sudden I saw three shadows surrounding me. I look up to see three birds circling around the sun. I hope they weren’t vultures waiting for me to die or something. I started walking again when I noticed that the shadows were following me. I drew one of my blades and decided to test something. I pointed at the circle of birds and shouted, “LIGHTNING!” Lightning shot out of my blade and was about to hit one of the birds when the bird not only dodged it, but it also came dive bombing towards me. I jumped out of the way, but right before the thing hit the ground, it changed directions in the spit of a second and made a 90-degree angle turn from the ground to me. I drew one of my blades to block and I then realize what I was fighting against. Harpies. The Harpy in front of me had white wings decorative in many symbols and a spear made out of pure bronze. A noble Harpy, know for their elegant white wings. While their position was with the use of metals in their weapons. In the Harpies lifestyle, most females were the warriors as well as the workers, but because of fairness males were allowed to do these jobs as well. Colors of one’s wings symbolize one way in the class system working from white being high and black being low. It was very biases and mixes where scattered everywhere, but everyone enjoyed it in the Harpy community. Anyway, back to this fight. She grinned and said, “You are very strong for a human, but,” snapping her fingers and her two semi-bulky assistants came to her side, “Can you beat what you can’t reach.” I slashed my sword at them and they jumped into the air and began to stabbed me with their spears. I dodged, but I’d end up being poked by another spear. I then created a shield to block physical attacks, which I acquired from breaking Lesth’s marble, but it could only last 5 minutes. I began preparing for an element attack and choose to use wind. They kept coming at me then they disappeared into the air only to use the sun to blind me. I had a hard time making them out, but then I saw all three charging at me and slammed against my shield causing it to shatter. I was about to blast them with wind, but they went back up for a second attack. Instead of looking up, I closed my eyes and waited for them to come towards me. I let out my focus feeling everything around me. I waited slowly for them to enter my boundary. Soon I felt a disturbance in the air currents and dodged out of the way at the last second. “What the--” one of the males said then I blasted them with my wind magic. “TORNADO!” The two males were blasted away, but the female dodged it and then threw a net over me. It slowly constricted me. “Well, you were interesting for a human, but that’s all you are a measly meek human.” She said and ordered her lackeys to drag me back to their home, The Nest. End of Part 2 Next Part: The Bird that flies Freely.
Extra/Omake I felt this part was too short and so I’ll explain the whole things with the half-people for a bit of filler and maybe foreshadow. I’ll add it on as a separate thing when I finish the chapter
Origins of Half-Humans Back when the Magic Outbreak happened and magic opened to the world, many people began to transformed into half-people, half-animal things. At first it wasn’t a problem, but soon things were getting out of hand since many people had “heighten” abilities. Soon crime began to increase despite the world being at peace and gang wars broke out over what was the better as they put it clan. Most of the time they were grouped by species including Birds, Cats, Fish, Reptiles, and various others. Then slowly they broke down more and more till little Mafia families were made over specific types like Lions Vs Tigers or Lizards Vs Snakes, etc. During warfare, you duty was to either be loyal to your family or your clan. Clans got together well, but every now and then you would here some sort of disruption in one followed by attacks by other clans. Eventually, when Navimle came to power he executed the capture of all dangerous half-breeds without question because according to him, they were “less than human.” Anyone who showed traits were captured immediately and were locked away till they were as he put it again, “Tamed.” Many were and soon kept their humans forms out. Others join the Rebellion against Navimle. Tons were put to test and experimented on to see how they worked. Soon, another oppression began. In a signed agreement, the rebels, should Navimle fall, would restore power to all the half-people and all the families and clan warfare’s would seize. Currently, various groups have join together and successfully took apart the clans and worked together. All, but one who had no knowledge of this for the moment this began they flew away to a safe haven from Navimle and still hate humans to this day. The Bird Clan. On my last note, there was only one other thing to note. Despite the all ready capture process and unknown experiments and attempted purges of species. There has been no know recording of a dog clan. Many would think there’d be at least one, but when the clans were made, their were no dogs, wolfs, or many other kind of the K-9s. Is Navimle keeping them a secret or where they wiped out already? That I have no knowledge about at this point in time. End
