The stars dazzled my eyes. They were small, but beautiful as they twinkled and danced. I could see my breath, coming out in puffs, like a fire breathing dragon just spouting. The puffs swirled around in the wind before being gently carried away in the breeze.
"A shooting star! Make a wish," He told me, pointing over to the star and carefully entwining his fingers with mine. I closed my eyes, trying to think up a wish. But I couldn't. This moment, this life, was already all I could ever wish for.
I savored this moment, tucked it carefully away in the corner of my mind so that I could save it for a day when I needed it, and memorized every little detail; the way his hair fell across his face, covering his warm, hazel eyes slightly, his warm palm against mine. The way he tucked a strand of my long, blond hair away. I took in his smell and the way he held me, the way he stroked my hair. I took in everything about him and everything about the scene; the soft lapping of ocean waves, cool as they caressed our toes. The still-warm sand that we were laying on. I memorized the cool summer breeze as we stared up at the stars that clear night.
But most of all, I memorized his voice; beautiful, soft and strong, velvety and clear, exhilarating and calming all at once. It was that moment, underneath these gorgeous stars, that I realized - with a feeling of freedom and ecstasy - I loved him. heart
