Ivy Greene hated the world.
Now I guess that's a pretty downer sentence to start a story on but hey, gotta start somewhere. I figure the best way to start a story is with the stuff you need to know first, yeah?
So anyways, Ivy was this sour little teenager living in a small town called Berling. It was one of those towns that were small enough where you couldn't go anywhere fun except for the movies or eat, but big and shady enough that you couldn't really walk anywhere either. More than almost anything else, Ivy hated that little town.
She went to a highschool full of teachers who probably cheated to get their degree and students burning their lives away with drugs and partying. Ivy herself didn't go out much, preferring to stay at home and surf the internet.
No one really knew why Ivy was such a sourpuss in the first place. Her family situation was better than most; her parents were happy and well off, never bothering their daughter. She had a few of the latest gadgets and nice clothes, plus a spot on the social ladder that was high enough no one bothered her. Her grades were above average, but not high enough that anyone really noticed her for her intelligence.
I personally think she was just sorta lonely. Then again I can't really say I knew her all that well. Maybe she just had high blood pressure.
Ivy was pretty introverted, though. The usually insolent students were all pretty intimidated by her, since when she arrived into Berlin she came with rumors about being a ferocious fighter. No one talked to her, so no one got the bad side of her fury. It was probably for the best.
Anyways her highschool life was going pretty smoothly, until around her sophmore year. It had been a seclusive year for Ivy, and she had been completely content with inwardly seeething at everything around her.
Of course, everything has gotta stop somewhere. Ivy's pitiful life decided to stop and hightail it off the lonely-teenager path, somewhere along the time her little school got a new teacher for science class.
Ivy Greene hated the world and she hated her little town, but above all she hated change. So when the surprise of a sarcastic teacher who meddled got thrown at her, it was not a pleasant one.
It was not a plesant surprise indeed.
