Cold Lips, and Pale Skin
Jeremy thought back to that day. Six years passed, and he still doubts he will find a girl as wonderful as she was. He curled into a ball, laying in his bed. He closed his eyes and sighed softly.
The wind was heavy. The snow fell, a blanket covering the town. Jeremy walked down the side walk, scarf covering his mouth and nose. He was bundled up. He tilted his head, seeing a girl in a dress with thin sleeves. She also wore high heels. What a strange woman... What was she thinking? Jeremy noticed she was shivering. She sat on the curb outside of an apartment building, crying. He ran over quickly, taking his scarf and coat off, putting them both around the stranger. He was always to kind. The girl looked up at him, mascara running down her cheeks. She smiled in thanks. "If I may ask...what happened?" Jeremy asked, standing beside her. The girl sighed deeply, shaking her head. "A very stupid fight with my boyfriend. Again." She told him. She stood up, nearly tripping from wearing heels. Jeremy helped her stand up. The girl smiled in thanks again. "Luckily, this time someone was here to help." She said quietly. She reached up, kissing his cheek. Jeremy slightly blushed and shivered to how cold she was. "My name is Alina." The girl told him. Jeremy nodded. He smiled softly. "Do you need a place to stay? I've got an extra room." He said, hugging himself to warm up. Alina gasped, smiling brightly. She hugged him tightly. "You would really do that?" She asked. Jeremy nodded, returning the smile.
Alina sat on the couch, smiling brightly. "It so warm in here!" She said. Jeremy chuckled, sitting beside her. "Well, make yourself at home." He told her. Alina nodded and took the remote from the coffee table. She switched the TV on. After changing it between a few channels, she shut it off. "Do you have a CD player?" Alinia asked, turning to Jeremy. Jeremy nodded, pointing to a table with a radio on it. Alina smiled. She stood up, walking over and looking through the CDs. "You've got really good taste in music." She said as she slid one into the CD player. She started the music and sat back on the couch. She took her shoe off and sat back. She had a look of discomfort on her face. She quickly sat up, turning to Jeremy again. "How can I ever thank you?" Jeremy looked at her in surprise. He shook his head. Alina frowned. She looked away, sighing deeply. "I feel guilty...I have no way to thank you." She said, resting her elbow on her knee as she rested her head in her palm. Jeremy smiled softly. He started to laugh. Alina looked at him. "What so funny?" She asked. "There's no need to thank me." Jeremy said, putting a hand on her pale cheek. Alina's face got hot as she turned red. "Now, stop the guilt." He said, coming forward and kissing her on the forehead sweetly. "I wasn't going to let someone be in the cold in thin clothes. Even if you are a stranger." He said.
Was this what he needed? She seemed a marvelous are her. As if she were still there. Just gone for a little while.
Four years passed
Alina ran through the living room and to the front door, hugging Jeremy tightly. "You're home!" She smiled, kissing him on the chin, to short to reach his cheek. She was only as high as his shoulders. A rather short woman. Jeremy hugged her back, smiling. Alina let go, walking to the couch and sitting down. "One soul belonging to two bodies. Amazing, isn't it?" She asked. Jeremy smiled. He loved her strangeness. How she made him guess things all the time. Her tricks. Her imperfections. "Do you know what I'm speaking of?" Alina asked, yawning quietly. "Do I guess?" Jeremy asked. Alina giggled, nodding. Jeremy nodded. "I will always love you, Kyra. Even this way." He said, sitting beside her and wrapping his arms around her, kissing her passionately. Maybe he was just insane. Kissing the soft, cold lips of his lover. Who was supposed to be dead, but turned out to belong to two bodies.
