The warrior princess of the elven realm Aladir strode forward, determination resounding in her body. Clad in her battle armour she prepared to ride out to war in the name of her father King Gwanduril and her elven brethren. The kingdom, the people and everything she had come to believe in had fallen under attack from the grotesque and merciless Abdul who gathered in great numbers in the desolate land beyond the boundaries of the elven ward, threatening their very existence. Her armour shimmering with the delicate rays of the new born sun, light streaking through her starlight hair and her gentle eyes glistening with the tears of regret, she thought of the fighting to come and the foul embodiment of death which she was to face.
Looking to the auburn skies, she moved her soft lips and released a piercing whistle. As all eyes turned upon the awe-inspiring princess a vast shadow passed over the very ground upon which she stood. Unalarmed, the princess spun around with such speed and elegance, of which only the elves possess, to face the destination of the eerie shadow. Slowly she crept forwards and lifted her gaze to face the enormous creature who in turn stared at her as it furled its translucent wings. Placing her ring-adorned hands upon the creature’s nose, she greeted her old friend with respect and relief at his arrival. With permission she rose onto his back proud before her loathsome enemies, who stared in disbelief, shock and blood-curdling terror.
There she sat motionless, pondering what she would become in the face of adversary and how she would react as fate revealed itself to her and her destiny unfolded before her very eyes. A welcomed wave of relief swept across her knowing she was not alone in her campaign, for she had her oldest and most trusted companion with her, Feldur the Dragon.
