The dress wrapped gently anround my small body. I sat staring at the person in the mirror. She had long black her that was being neatly curled and put up by a complete stranger. She had glowing green eyes and a false smile. Her skin was pale. when the stranger was done with my hair I stood up and walked over to the window. I ran ny fingers down the black silk curtains before moving them. It was dark outside. The stars were dancing to the sound of the wind. i took in a deep breath knowing it was alomst time for my own dance.
There was a soft knock at the door. i spun around slowly as it creaked open. Prince Louis was gazing inside at me. "Victoria, you look amazing." he looked me over. Louis's brown messy hair was combed and neat tonight. He wore a black outfit with silver buckles. "Are you ready to go?"
I looked in the mirror one more time before saying anything. I did not look like myself. I was not ready to go. "Yes." i glided over to him taking his hand. he lead me slowly and gently down the stairs to the ballroom of his castle. Ribbons of many colors were hanging every where. People were all dressed up. Every one was chatting amonst themselves but became quickly silent as we joined in the room. Prince Louis guided me to the center of the room. Every one else formed a circle around us. Strings started to play softly. Louis started to move. I held my breath as we started to dance.
People joined in with us after a few moments. The music flowed and sounded so beautiful. I remembered the stars dancing to wind. The soft breeze that would flow through my hair. i started to actually enjoy myself for a moment. The music was telling a story to me. It sung of a child. It was soft and joyful. slowly though, it turned into a sad song. the child had lost a parent. her mother. It picked up tempo rather quickly. Anger. the child had been left by her father to grow up alone.
She never knew her mother well enough and now her father has left. It turned soft again with some sorrow. Her sister took care of her. Played games with her and she was starting to enjoy life again. Suddenly out of no where the music was angery again. Her sister was murdered by her Father. The child was now older. She hunted her father down for revenge. The music transformed the mood of every one. Some people saw the story i was seeing and closed their eyes to listen to the rest. There was a battle. She was fighting against others. Many others. Even though out numbered the fight in her won over. She saw her father for the first time since her mother's death. The music rushed into an angry rage.
She did not lose or win the fight against her it was a draw. The music slowed back to a joyful pace. It was sorrow and rage. Soon it transformed into a bright and happy song again. She had started new. She met a new life with a new love. She was happy. Louis was spinning me around with the music i hardly noticed. the story went on.
It was sharp and crisp at the change in her. She remembered why she was so enraged. Her father. She had decided to hunt him again. She was after a kill. There was another battle. Her and her father. The music sung of a never ending battle for a while. Her lover had showed and the anger from him fueled her. she stood over her father ready to kill him now. She looked back at her lover and the music turned soft. She walked away leaving her father alive. her love depised her. he left her and was chased down by her father's hunters. the music turned to a scared sound. she rushed to safe his life even after he left her. she still loved him.
The music slowed down without a finish to the story. it was left open whether or not her lover survived. i looked into Louis's blue eyes and smiled softly. he was my love. and he had guided me perfectly in my first dance. The song of a child. He led me off the floor and kissed my hand lightly.
"Wonderfully done." he smiled that perfect smile. "I told you, you could do it." he paused as i smiled up at him. "That song was..."
"Was a story." i finished for him. "Of a child's life. Of a hunter." he nodded in agreement and held me tightly. i looked out over the crowd as they already started to dance to the next song. they were graceful. it was perfect, like the dancing stars.
