    Where The White Leopard Sleeps


    I opened my eyes and was blinded from the sunlight coming through the window. As I sat up in the small bed I had awoke in I was startled by a woman walking through the door and touching my shoulder. I jumped to my feet not knowing that I wasn’t wearing any clothing. She smiled and shut the door “I guess you’re feeling better now that you had a good night’s rest.” she said smiling as she handed me a set of clothes. I and let myself calm down “I’m sorry if I seemed defensive.”I said taking the clothes. She waved her hand and laughed “Dear girl I know why your jumpy I saw your shoulder. “She said pointing at my shoulder where my mechanical parts were still showing. I sighed “Do you want me to leave?”I said waiting for the answer that I thought I would get. She smiled and walked over to me “poor child I would never make you leave I know how hard it is for you bionic people to fit in.” she said sitting on the bed. I smiled “You’re a good person.”I said sitting next to her. She looked into my eyes “my husband won’t let you stay so I’m just telling you it would be good to leave before he gets back” she said looking so serious it started to worry me. I nodded then stood up “what if I stay?” I asked looking at her. She stood up and shook her head “No listen you’re an attractive teen he will hurt you.” she said putting her hands on both of my shoulders. I nodded “Thank you for the clothes.”I said putting them on. She smiled “They are just old pajamas.” she said opening the door. I walked out the door and down the stairs to the front door. Me and the woman whose name I did not know exchanged a farewell hug then I turned to the road and continued down the path to nowhere. I saw a small down at the bottom of the hill that I was walking down. In the excitement of thinking of food and a time to rest I jogged up to a small restaurant and walked to the counter panting. A man walked up to me and asked to sit by me but I didn’t pay any attention to him and waited for a waiter. The man looked at my mechanical shoulder then laughed “We got us a part machine girl here boys.” he said standing up and looking around. I stood up and kicked him in the back launching him into a booth of guys who looked at me. My ID fell out of my pocket and one of them picked it up “Nina Halter.” He said laughing with the other guys. I stood up and pointed the pistol that was made to be distributed out of my back. I glared at the puny men and said “My name isn’t Nina Halter,” I looks around at them “I don’t have a name and I will destroy you unless you leave me alone and give me what I want.”I said moving closer to them. The waiter at the counter hit me in the back of the head and I turned to look at him “You can’t be serious I will not destroy you.” I said as I grabbed him and pulled him over the counter. He looked at me as I smiled insanely holding him higher than me. I stopped smiling”Rest eternally.” I said as I lost control and decapitated him using the ceiling fan. I dropped his headless body and picked up my gun. As I did so I looked at the other men that were around me. I picked it up and reinserted it into my back then walked into the street covered in blood of my victim. I walked down to the beach and sat on a rock until I could hear the mob of the town that would surely tear me apart. I stood up and looked towards the group as a single shot rifle rang out. I looked at my right arm which was now laying a few feet behind me. I shook my head and ran to the darkness of the night. About four hours of running and I stumbled into a small hole filled with robotic parts. A mechanical figure picks me up by the throat and pushes me against a tree. I tried my best to get free until it finally let go after seeing my face in the moonlight. “What are you doing here bot?” He asked. I stood up and looked at the robotic man”Tell me your name and I will tell you.” I said standing taller. He laughed “I am White Leopard.” He said walking towards me. “ok I was running.” I said nervously. he looked at my arm and walked over to me “you need repair.” He said holding a robotic arm to mine as it connected “repaired.” He smiled and looked at me ”do you have a name?” he said walking over to me. I shook my head staring at the ground. He pulled my face up ”Well Mecca you have one now.” He said smiling. A helicopter sounded out as he looked into the sky ”come on.” He said as he started running. I followed the best I could but eventually I lost sight of him.
