The court room was silent. Only a few sat in the audience watching the trial take place.
Most of them were relatives or friends of the defendant of the trial. None of the accuser's relatives were there, though it was slightly confusing why there was none there. Did their family not love the accuser enough to come watch, or did they just have no relatives at all? Either way, the trial was going to take place with or without them.
The Judge hit his gable on the podium, the loud banging echoing throughout the whole open room.
"Let the trial commence," He said strictly, his words booming accross the room like the banging of his gable. None dared to ever comment on this in any court or trial, this person held the authority. They were there to appeal to him so they might escape with the good news, not to displease him and leave with the bad news. "The offensive rise and state his case."
The lawyer of the offensive, Noah, stood up from his chair and went to stand infront of the judge.
He coughed a bit as to get his throat clear and spoke with clairty, "My client has been abused by the defensive, judge. I was a little shocked, and a little confused when I took this case, but when I saw the pictures that I'm about show you, I quickly comprehended the situation.
Noah went back over to the offensive's table to take two glossy photos out of his suit case. He showed the first to the judge, speaking loudly and clearly still, "Exhibit A,
Many scratches made to my client! Was it really neccessary? But wait, that's only a portion of the marks. They're all over it! There's more," He paused to switch the pictures, "Exhibit B,
More damage made to the victim. I tell you, this defendant has an unbelievable abusive nature. A tear made into the cushion of the chair, how could she have made that without doing it purposely? I conclude my presentation to allow to hear your thoughts and let the defendant reply." Noah finished his presentation and sat back down in his chair...beside his defendant, that was also a chair from the photos. But rather fixed up this time with lots of duct tape...
Krista was squirming in her chair from anxiousness. She wanted to run out of the court room so badly.
Her hair was drooped around her face like a curtain. She was usually happy with her hair tucked behind her ear to expose her face to the world, but now she just wanted to hide. She was certainly in trouble. To make things even worse, she had Kai for her lawyer. Of all people she could have gotten, it was him. She was surely doomed to be guilty for her evil crime.
The judge sat there, fingering his gable while deep in thought. All in the room were watching him,
looking for some sign of where his train of thought's destination was. After a long and seemingly endless silence, the judge spoke, "It does sound rather unneccessary. Defendant, I hope you have a good reason for this. Let Mr.Shirou do his presentation for the defendant." The judge banged his gable one last time before setting it down. He seemed to like banging his gable, a wide grin on his face. He set his eyes upon Kai, waiting for him to speak.
Kai had gotten up and took his place infront of the judge's high pedestal. He seemed to shift uneasily in his tuxedo, he seemed to hate the suit.
His arms seem to shift uneasily the most, since he wasn't used to wearing sleeves, but more used to ripping the sleeves off things as soon as the shirt took its place in his hands. Every single moment was probably killing him to wear something with sleeves. He pushed his black spiked hair from his face in a sad attempt to be able to get a clear view of the judge. He looked slightly irratated when he had to crank his head back so much to be able to look up at the judge, it was utterly ridiculous how tall this pedestal was. He cursed under his breathe, his ears twitching from irratance and he said lazily, "Look, this is quite stupid, I'm sure you know too. Krista has been sitting in the chair for three years, you've really got to give her a break. You know what she uses that chair as? A computer chair. You have any clue how much time she spends on the computer? Can you imagine how much havoc that wreaks on her back?
"Did you ever notice that he never took pictures of the WHOLE chair? You can't see it clearly over there because it's so covered up in the duct tape..." Kai shook his head and took out some rather crumpled photos from his pocket, climbed up on the pedestal beside the judge to show them to him. Everybody stared at Kai in shock, it was practically a sin to approach a judge in such a way, especially a lawyer. The judge stared at the pictures astounded as Kai spoke on, "Exhibit A,
Take a good look at this chair, judge. Does this look really comfortable enough for you to you to sit in for 3 years, ever single night typing up reports and such? This will also shock you, I advise some of you to look away. It's quite horrid." Kai showed the judge the second picture he had and lifted it up for everybody in the court to see. Many gasped in shock.
"I know eh? That's something you sit in for maybe a couple hours at thanksgiving, not regularly. It's not even a rolly chair let alone comfortable! This chair was not made to be a computer chair. I have confirmation that this chair was thrusted upon Krista rather than her giving a choice to get a more suitable seat for at her computer. I say this chair was prone to this abuse, not Krista's fault. I rest my case." Kai went to sit in his chair again beside Krista. Krista was staring at him dumbfounded by his reckless actions as if he just went and used the judge's water as moutwash and spit the dirty and spit infested contents back into his glass cup.
Noah adruptly stood, knocking his chair back, swinging his arm dramatically and knocked over the other chair, in other words his client. Completely oblivious to it he yelled, "THAT WAS HORRIBLE!! INEXCUSABLE!!! I SAY SHE SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH THE PENALTY OF...DEATH!!!"
"Noah, even you know that execution is prohibited. Let alone over something like this, the victim is still intact," The judge rolled his eyes at Noah.
Noah looked off innocently, muttering so nobody could hear, "I just wanted to see someone get fried in an electric chair...this sucks..." Noah regained composure and glared at the judge, "Dad, why can't we just get this over with? You know the defendant is guilty as charged and should be punished...BY DEATH!!!"
"HEY!! YOU SHALL REFER TO ME AS A JUDGE HERE!! I AM AN ALMIGHTY NOBLE SITTING UP ON MY FREAKISHLY HUGE PEDASTAL!!!!!" Zepherus screamed bashing his gable madly on the pedastal top. "ORDER IN THE COURT NOW!!" Noah sat down in his chair again, very unimpressed. Zepherus sighed and spoke again, "I shall allow reccess now to allow some of you to think and come up with a plan while I consider the sides also more thoroughly, and I want a sandwich..." He banged his gable again.
Everybody shook their heads and left the court room, leaving Zepherus, the judge up on his high pedestal. Zepherus took out his sandwich, just as he was going to take his first bite out of it, the pedestal cracked and collapsed. He screamed in surprise as he fell down into the rubble, and lost his sandwich. Perhaps he hit it too many times with his gable...He shouted after the court attendants, "RECESS SHALL BE OVER ONCE I GET THIS PEDESTAL FIXED!!!"
