Haha...yeah. Had a random thought as I was walking the trails tonight and I wasn't sure if anyone else thought of it my way.

You hear all these poems and read all these lyrics that say that when people stand near the ocean, they should...or they do feel small.

I don't feel small. Uh...yeah. I look at it this way...When I look across the ocean, I see a new world of opportunity and no limits to what I can become. As if the water represents everything offered to me and all the things I can make of my life.

In short, it makes me feel alive. And I see the most random every day things as beautiful. The things I see everyday, in the correct lighting can become a beautiful work of art...and I feel a little sad beacuse I feel as if I will never be able to paint with the colours that describe how I feel, or even take a picture that captures my heart. Whoa...I didn't want that to sound as scary as it did.

Maybe, if an artist came along and looked...and actually saw with the same eyes as me, they'd say that this island is painted in to rich a colour...in fact...I'm sure if an artist tried to capture this place on paper...they'd fail and be criticized for making the work seem to...um...fantasy-like. Sorry...that isn't the best word to describe it...but I can't think of another.

And well, that thought also makes me sad. This place...is dying. People keep moving out, going to the big cities with the huge buildings and working in these gigantic grey jungles...what if when everyone is gone there is no way for our children, our descendants, to see the same beauty we saw and feel the same things we felt?

Maybe I'm touching on a very important realization...or maybe I'm just thinking too hard again...? v.v
