Issac, Kaos, Mia, and Grey landed with a thud. They knew they didn't fall but warping seemed as if the jumped on high and fell...Hard. Mia looked around at their surroundings as she struggled to stand. Obviously they were on a beach, with the sounds of rushing waves flowing around them and seagulls cawing. She felt her back for her quiver. Still there, she thought. One by one, the rest stood up trying to grab a hold of their situation as well. "Well...did it work?", asked Kaos.
"I think so." replied Issac. "We're nowhere inland anymore..."
'I've been here!", said Grey. "This is the Eastern beach of Fincayra! We're here! I expect this messenger of your king should be in the small village up that path."
"I hope so.", said Mia. They followed the dirt path, walking for about a good 2 hours before making it to the village. Mia kept her hood up in case enemies easily noticed her. They entered a small bar and took a seat, ordering a glass of firebrew for Grey, 2 glasses of cold water for Issac, and a tonic for Kaos. They waited for a sign from the supposed messenger. Suddenly there was a fifth person among them. "So...you've arrived quickly.", he said. By look the guy looked no older or so than the rest of them. Actually by Issac's guess he was about 18. He wore a black cloak, his face was obscured by a wide-brimmed hat whose pointed top was bent to the back. "And you are?", asked Mia.
"My name is Emrys.", he said. "A hired Messenger, and local wizard of the area."
"Wizard?", asked Issac.
"Yes. You must be Issac, the presumed last mage on the face of this country. I am interested to see how your magic fares in the future."
"Wait...mages, wizards...whats the difference?", asked Kaos.
"If I remember right, Mages are specialists in certain forms of magic.", Issac said digging bits of information out of his head.
"Correct,", agreed Emrys. "Mages specialize in a form of magic that they prefer. Whilst they can learn other forms of magic, they mainly spend time on their primary craft."
"I see.", said Grey. "That means Wizards are more generalized and have a more broader range of versatility."
"Correct.", he said again. "However, we are exceptionally skilled in the art of spoken charms and spells. we use words of power to bend reality if I may say, and channel our power through it."
"I see.", said Mia. "Now then...do you have the map."
"Of course! here.", he said giving them the map hidden away in his cloak.
Issac took a look. It was a map of the continent and there were 8 red Xs on several parts of it. Obviously the Crystals were shot far and wide.
"We'll start with the fragment here.", declared Issac.
"As I expected. Although my job is over...I wish to join you on this mission. You never know when another magic-user could come in handy."
They all looked at each other, and nodded in agreement.
