Chap. 2 – Jim
First period had ended and I was now on my way to 2nd period. I was dreading it with all my heart. I sighed as a thought popped into my head.
‘Even though I broke up with Him, he probably said the opposite, just to protect his reputation...Jerk’
“You look pretty down” A voice said. I snapped my head up to see that my feet had already carried me into my next classroom. I glared at Jim who sat in front of me, smirking. Man, I wanted to smack that grin off his face SO fast-I didn’t want to even think of it or I would do it.
“What’s it to you?” I challenged. My eyes flickered to movement from the corner of my eye. A girl was walking over and she sat in his lap. I recognized her as Michiko, known as a slut in the school since she always seems to be with a different guy every month. I rolled my eyes.
‘He’s going out with a slut, how convenient.’ I thought.
I turned my head as they kissed. I clenched my hands into fists from anger. He didn’t seem to care at ALL that we broke up. b*****d probably never cared about me in the first place. Their lip-lock was short lived since the teacher walked in. Michiko reluctantly walked back to her seat across the room. Jim turned to look at me to say a smart-a** remark but I forced myself to look past him instead of getting into an argument with him. The teacher announced that we would be working with partners for a few weeks. I mumbled a few cursings with the possibility of being with Jim.
“Kiyoko will be with…” the teacher started. I held my breath. “Rinji.” He finished. I let the air out with a sigh of relief. I saw Jim glance at me as he stood up to move out of his seat to go to Michiko. All I did was smile and made a small wave good-bye. He didn’t like that very much. He glared at me as he sat next to Michiko. Rinji looked at him as he sat down then turned to me.
“I see Jim didn’t waste his time finding another girl.” He said.
I shrugged. “She suits him actually.”
“How so?” He asked.
“The reason I broke up with him was because I caught him in bed with another girl when I went to his house. And the girl he’s dating is Michiko.” I explained. He looked surprised the turned around to look at the couple.
“Your right. It is her!” He said.
“Of course I’m right you idiot.” I smiled. He looked back to me.
“You don’t seem so put down.” He added. I frowned a bit.
“Maybe it’s because I’ve come to realize that he probably never even cared about me at all.” I said putting my hands on top of my desk. I felt heat rise to my face when he laid one of his hands on top of mine.
“If you want, I could help you kick his a**.” Ho joked. Now THAT got me to laugh.
“As much as I want to, I think I’ll let Karma deal with it.” I smiled.
“If you say so.” Rinji said. I continued smiling until I looked at the work packets our teacher had handed out. They we’re almost a half-inch thick.
“No wonder he gave us weeks to work on this thing. It’s huge!” I exclaimed.
“Yeah, we should get started.” He said and I nodded before we began to work together on the monster-for-a-packet assignment.

We had worked until the end of the period. I had glanced at Jim every once in awhile only to see him glaring at me. One time near the end of the period he smirked. It sent shivers down my spine. I knew he must have thought of something bad to do to me, that would somehow make my school days a living Hell. The bell had rung and Rinji and I were heading towards the door.
“I’ll stop by your house so we can work on the packet later.” He offered.
“I’m sorry but I work today.” I mentioned to him.
“That’s ok. I’ll just come with you to work and sit at a table and do some problems, then on your break you can do some problems.” He said.
“You really want to spend that much time with me?” I asked.
“Yeah….and I don’t want to deal with ‘confession’ phone calls every 5 minutes.”
I laughed, but it died down as we exited the room and he was snatched away by yet another group of girls. I then started a speedy walk to the cafeteria. I wanted to get there before Jim and his followers got to the table we had shared. I made a small smile when I got there first and sat down. I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t get in line and I didn’t want to get up for fear of the table being taken over. I looked to the entrance as I heard a group coming. I expected to see Rinji and his fangirls but was caught by surprise when I saw Jim instead surrounded by girls, including Michiko who clung to his arm. They were laughing but when he looked to me I saw the girls look to me also but they glared at me. I saw Jim smirk again and then continue talking to them. I shiver ran down my spine like earlier.
‘What the hell was THAT all about?!’
