The first story is of Apollo and Daphne. Eros (cupid) was looking at Apollo's great bow. Apollo told Eros that he should stick to his puny bow. thus, Eros took revenge on Apollo by making him fall in love with Daphne, a nymph and making her not love him.
He chased her to a river where Daphne's father was. he was about to catch her when she asked her father to change her into a laurel. Her father did as he was asked and ever since, Apollo wore a wreath of laurel. though Apollo was the one who drove the sun over the sky, there was another sun god, Helius. there was even a titan sun god named Hyperion. Thus, he may have more likely been the God of order, not the sun god.
