My Japan Journal pt 2
Dear Diary, 8/4/05
Two days ago we went to a shrine in Nikko. It was really beautiful. I wish I took some pictures but my camera wouldn't work. We also went to a high school. It was lots of fun! Me and everyone else wrote (Japanese) calligraphy, played a game we played a game that you knock down a stack of blocks peice by peice, There was another game. There was a ball attached to a string and you ae supposed to catch it on 4 different parts of the hammer like thing. We also did origami. I madea jumping frog! All the American girls got to dress up in kimono's. Me, my sister and my friend wore blue ones. We went to lunch and then Nikko shrine. For lunch i had dessert. It had chocolate Ice cream and chocolate syrup, banana's, whip cream, and i think angel food cake. My sister had fries. Oh the restraunts name was Gusco I think. I love melon fanta. It tasted like candy. Yesterday we got to look at a butterfly convention near the library. There were three floors at the library. Me and my sister saw some movies we reconized like Honey I shrunk ourselves and Home Alone. They had some books given to them by th R.C Pubic Library. We got to walk down the emergency escape stair things. Then we made and ate some Soba noddles. A Japanese guy who spoke English really well said that if we couldn't finnish it to give it to him. His name was Chris(Well he's half American) So we gave it to him. There was an American guy there that spoke Japanese real well. His name was Clark. Well it was funny because Clark asked Chris if he needed any help with eating all the soba noodles or something like that and a couple of minutes later Chris said he might need a C-section or something oin "his own way". I cna't remember exactly what he said but Clark said. "I'll be over there in a bit baby." Or something like that. We all laughed. Then we did some wood carving. I did a bamboo pattern on a mirror. I thought it sucked. Then we went to Jusco (a mall). That was my secound time their. My friend wanted to get some wasabi for her dad. I told her ok bye. My sister thought i was mean but I told her that my friend might need some help finding some wasabiand that i thought we should look for Chris or Clark. At first she didn't believe me but then we found Chris. We went downstairs and found her. We found the Wasabi andwent back upstairs. I bought a manga called Spiral and a Magazine type thing with lots of comics. The magazin was called Dragon Age. It's all in Japanese so of coaursze i can't read it. Spiral looks verry interresting. When i get back home I'll have to go to Waldens to see if they have it! After we got in our host families carwe were heading home when we decided to stop for ice cream. I think i got black berry swirl. I'm not sure though. After dinner we gave them there presents. During dinner the lights went out because of a storm. Oh yeahj in the morning Anzue (the 2 year old) was crying because she didn't want us to go. Well i think that's why she was crying.)
