Rose Being a Multi-Tool
Rose was multi-tasking to the extreme. She was healing Shal's broken leg, listening to Shal, and trying to repeat things back to Lord Avondale that might actually make sense. She almost got it all right. The translating back to Lord Avondale was the hardest, though.
"Wolf ran ahead because he saw something in the darkness. It was a tentacle, like in Riverworld, but it was a barracuda and a starfish. And it is vicious. It's going to try to eat them."
Finished with Shal's leg, Rose began to work on Wolf. It was harder, of course, but not because of the reasons she'd suspected. Mostly because the Staruda had a stinging and numbing touch, and when all the nerves in the body are offline, it is hard to find the source of a problem. Except, that would mean it's "neurological." Rose thought, though she said the last part out loud. Both Shal and Lord Avondale could hear her say that word, the way she broadcasted it. She hadn't meant to.
<Shal, it might still be a minute or two before I can rouse Wolf.> Rose said to Shal as a warning.
She then proceeded to test neurological connections in Wolf's brain. Not a very easy job, and painstakingly slow. Precious seconds were slipping away while a predator loomed near Shal and Wolf.

Taran: Apologies
Taran, having heard everything in his mind that n** said to Flan, and what she had said as well, felt a little embarrassed.
"Please don't break the door." Taran said, not sure and not caring if n** could hear him. "Rose would never forgive me..." he mumbled. Reaching up to the ship comm, he flicked a switch and pulled the mic down, and broadcasted to the entire ship; "n**, I'll be right there."
And with that, he stood. Autopilot was engaged, so he was okay to leave the bridge.
"Excuse me a moment, please. I'll be right back." he said to Flan.
And with that, he popped out of his chair, and practically jumped down the couple of steps down to the crew quarters. Pushing a few simple buttons on the panel, the door light turned green and was unlocked. Taran moved right over to the crew door, and opened it.
Without looking down, Taran called to n**, "Sorry about that n**. Door's open now." And he backed away, and decided to wait there for her to come up. He felt like he needed to apologize to her better- he did not want to offend her.

Se'rox: Through?
Se'rox was unsure how Zuchax III would take what she had just done, until he picked her up and kissed her. She felt more alive than she ever had before. The pain in her chest and in her throat were melted away in seconds, and she rationalized that perhaps this was what being hit by lightening felt like.
But then some stupid Duremite came up and tried to... who knows what. He was being rude, and stupid. Zuchax III set her back down and spun on the n00b so quickly that she was amazed he had seemed so calm a moment before. And then the n00b was dead, and more Gaians were trying to push in on them. Se'rox held her head as they started towards them, as the suffocation and dizziness she had felt for the last few days started to loom again.
But again, Zuchax III made them stop. And retreat. Se'rox wondered if he had somehow figured out what the crowds had done to her. She watched as he punched himself in the chest, and she realized that her own chest felt tight again, painful. Did he feel that same pain?
Zuchax III, after a moment, told her then about how he had reacted, and how, looking back, had made rash decisions that led to him being here, and being with Xeona. Se'rox wanted to hear more of why Xeona had been with him, but before she could ask, what he was saying to her took her by surprise. The pain in her throat intensified as he said he wasn't sure if she wanted him dead or wanted him to stay, but that he was not going to do either.
As he said he wouldn't die easily, and coughed up something that smelled like blood, he seemed a little distant. He said Chazu had died, and he had to go change his hair for the ceremony.
And just like that, Zuchax III walked away. So, we're... through? she asked herself, fighting the pain in her chest.
Se'rox fell to her knees, the pain in her chest unbearable, and all energy seeming to leave her at once. The crowd did not immediately move in on her, but she knew in the back of her head that it would, and soon. She could feel that Zuchax III was not stopping as he walked off. Se'rox quickly leveled off the mud-pole, and melted the coffin-box away around... around where Xeona should have been.
There was nothing there.
In a daze almost, with Zuchax III having just left her, and this unknown ending to Xeona not even registering yet, Se'rox still had one rational thought within her. And, as logical people tend to do, when in doubt, they cling to logic. So Se'rox, still on her knees, created a portal in front of her, and stumbled through it.
Moments later, Se'rox stumbled back out into the middle of a forest, far far away from Duremites, from a missing Xeona, and a Zuchax III who seemed to be through with her. She wasn't even on Gaia anymore. By instinct, she had fled to the last place before meeting Zuchax III that she had felt welcome at. But she didn't know if she would be welcome anymore in Kaitan, and she didn't feel like moving anyways. She built a mud hut around where she had opened the portal to. It was more of a small mud tent, really, but with no exits or entrances, and only a small hole for air.
