This is a Journal to help other people reading Fly Away understand Aquaris more.
"Aquaris...It's time." Star said, walking his mount up to her side. "We're all here with you. Don't worry."
How she wanted to trust is voice after what happened. It was his voice that she taught so many years ago. As she flew through the air, the events of the past few hours wized through the young elf's mind.
She was commanding the force. Her voice sailed through the air, thousands of people waiting to fight listening. Star was at her left while Matt was at her right. At peace, she gave the command to mount up. Stephanie, her daughter was behind her, her mount as ready as her mother's own. She was told that she was to follow her mother when they took to the skies. Her mother, a war veteran and a skilled fighter. She was lucky. The command reached her ears as her mount followed her mothers, the four horses lifting off together. There were a couple thousand on weapons of all types. Swords. Gloves. Syringes. You name it, it was there. the foot troops ran forward, starting the battle.
"Ready?" Aquaris asked, standing up with sure footing, drawing her sword. The only reply was Star, Matt and Stephanie standing up before jumping off in union. The enemy surrounded them, more or less focusing on Stephanie. Metal flashed before a scream filled the air. Her head snapped in the direction. "No..." Aquaris whispered, running to where her daughter lay. Her eyes almost instantly came to be filled with tears. Gingerly picking her up, she jumped on the sword and headed towards the camp. It felt like thousands of eyes were watching her.
Landing quickly, she rushed to where the medics were located.
"Mom..." Stephanie whispered, a very white ivory.
"I got you...Don't worry."
Her voice sounded so sure, yet then she didn't know those words that the doctors would of said.
The staff rushed to her, taking her daughter from her arms. She followed them to an empty room, where the one of the staff, just by looking at Stephanie could tell that she wasn't going to make it, approched her.
"Ma'am, she isn't going to make it." she told her, not noticing Aquaris stiffen. "We'll do what we can..."
Aquaris felt the tears spring up to her eyes, one rolling down her cheek. She turned and ran, almost running into Star. "Aquaris!" he shouted, turning and running after her. He found her crying near her tent.
"She isn't going to make it..." she whispered, as if knowing Star was there.
"That's just a guess-" Star tried to explain, going over to her side. She got up and drew her sword before getting on it and taking off, tears making it hard to see.
"Aquaris!" Star yelled, watching her leave.
Now she was crying, stopped in the air. "Why...why does it have to be me? Why?!" she yelled to no one in particular, rage starting to piss her off. She looked at the crystal representing her daughter as it turned to a locket. More tears came to her, turning her already blue eyes darker. "No..." she whispered, holding it to her heart.
I need to find something to keep me occupied... she remembered, continuing forward, her tears drying fast. Something to keep me from thinking of her...
