This is something that needs to be spread around to everybody. There's this group of law students trying to get Congress to pass this bill that will basically screw over every artist.
They are trying to make it so that you have to register every piece of art you do or anyone can just steal your art and use it as their own. And even if you do register it, these people aren't going to keep track of anything, you need to find out someone's using your art on your own, AND it limits the amount of money you can get from taking the person to court from thousands to only hundreds of dollars.
ALSO, as long as the person makes a "reasonable attempt" to contact the owner, it's fine for them to take their art. That means, for example if someone sees your art and wants it, all they have to do is call you on the phone or something. If you don't pick up the phone, doesn't matter. It's fine now and they can take your work!
Anyone that wants to protect their art and stop this bill from being passed, spread the word to everyone. THIS WILL EFFECT MUSICIANS AS WELL, so they should be aware as too.
Artists all over the country are working to keep everyone's art safe from this.
