The Tails Doll (also called Puppet Tails) is a doll version of Miles "Tails" Prower built by Dr. Robotnik. It is a secret character in the game Sonic R, unlocked by finding the 5 tokens in the Radical City track and finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the race. Tails Doll has poor handling, average acceleration and average top speed. He is comparable to Tails in the same way that Metal Sonic is comparable to Sonic the Hedgehog and Metal Knuckles is comparable to Knuckles the Echidna.
Tails Doll was created at Robotnik's Reactive Factory along with Metal Knuckles, and has a metal rod coming out of the top of its head leading to a mysterious red gem that seems to control Tails Doll's movement. It has apparent cotton construction; the primary color of which is an orange yellow, white muzzle, large beady black eyes, two slabs of fabric over the forehead to serve as imitations of Tails' bangs, large white ears, large zippers on the back of the head and on the back of the body, large and bulbous black nose, circular patch of white fabric on its chest/belly to imitate Tails' chest fur, white circular objects to serve as imitations of Tails' gloves, red fabric shoes with a white stripe going around them, white fabric socks, two large, white-tipped tails, and white stitching that is visible on many part of Tails Doll's such as on the glove, tail, the white chest patch, ears, shoes, etc.
In Sonic Adventure, there are doll versions of Tails, Sonic and Knuckles used as practice dummies for Eggman's robots. They appear incapable of moving on their own as the Tails Doll from Sonic R can. In Sonic Rivals, the Tails Doll from Sonic Adventure appears on a collectable card and is named, "Tails Doll."
