Forgotten Petals

The petals fall to the floor
the last dawn approches
it is cold
but new
cruel
but refreshing
the petals fall once more
they fall to the grass
they are whisped away
by the wind
like coming memories
the petals fall once more
but this time from the flower of death
and life
they fall to the river
carried
comforted
and swayed by the currents
coming and going
just like memories
