“Ok what kind of guy wears a trench coat, boots, and a safari hat in Arizona during the summer?” I said pushing back my brown hair while talking on the phone. On the other side of the phone listening was my friend Elle in New York. “Um I really don’t know, I mean isn’t it like 100 degrees there? If It was me I would be wearing shorts and a tank top.” I shook my head at the man walking in the coffee shop with the giant sweat gear. “Hey Elle I will call you back, got to take these customers or I might just get fired.” I said putting my phone on my opposite shoulder. I said goodbye to Elle and then hung up. I walked over to the counter and placed a menu down in front of the man with the sweat gear. “I am Nora Pilidin and I will be your server today, would you like to try our Sunday special?” I said pulling out the forks, knifes, and spoons and placing them in front of the man. He shook his head without looking up. “Anything to drink sir?” I said still standing above him. He gruffly cleared his throat and said “Coffee please.”I twitched my nose. His breath smelled like mints and salmon. Gross Combination. “Ok sir.” I said choking back tears from the smell of his horrible breath. I grabbed a coffee cup from the cup rack, pushed it under the coffee maker and waited. “Would you like cream sir?” I said looking over my shoulder. He shook his head without looking up again. Maybe he was just embarrassed about how bad his breath smelled or maybe not. I looked back at the coffee maker. It had stopped and so had the coffee coming out. I looked out the window. The people outside had stopped moving as well. What was going on? I started breathing harder than I was when I saw the coffee stop. My hands became sweaty and then I dropped the spoon. As the spoon fell out my hands it stopped as well. My face turned white as a sheet. Then I felt a knife on my back. “Nora Sophia Pilidin, Your time to die has come.”
