What is love?

To tell you the truth I never really though about it until now. I thought it would come to you and you’d know then and there that you have found it. But honestly that’s much too good to be true. There won’t be some guy that sweeps you off your feet and carries you away to live in a palace with all the riches you could ever dream of. You wont find it by looking at someone or having them brush past you in a rush. It’s not a crush on your old school mate. You can’t pretend its there or go looking for it. No its much more than any of that.
I believe love when he puts his hand one your cheek and looks at you like nothing else is around. Love is when that touch leaves your face burning where his fingertips brushed your cheekbone. When that one simple touch has your stomach knotted your cheeks red and soul has left in a high for the rest of the day.
When he twirls your hair in his hand and gently tucks it behind your ear. When he tits your face up to him and smiles at you. When all you can think about is him. How to love even more and protect him from anything. When he comes from behind you and wraps his around your shoulders or waist and he softly kisses your cheek. When you trip and he’s suddenly there catching you.
When he loves you he’ll hold you tight against his chest. His arms will be around your waist pulling you closer. Your arms will be move from his chest up around the back of his neck. You’ll let your head lay on him. He’ll rock you lightly back and forth, then he’ll bend his head until it reaches your ear and he’ll whisper ever so faintly the words “I love you.” you’ll know it’s true and nothing, not even death will take you away from one another.

What is love? People ask all the time. I couldn’t say because I have now idea.

I read once in a book that you find true love once and only once, if your lucky.
I wasn’t one of the lucky ones.
I never found love.
But I will die here waiting for it
