Scrooge looked around, shivering from not only cold, but fear. He had seen his past, his present, and now it was time to see his future. Just as he wondered who would be his guide, a blue and black shadow appeared in front of him.
'I am the Ghost of Christmas future...' A thought that was not his own, intruded Scrooge's mind.
"wh-where am I?" The mortal stuttered.
'Look around... You will find the answer...' A shiver protruded into Scrooge's spine as the terrifying and uninviting thought filled his head.
As he looked around, more observant, he saw tombstones. Most were filled with now wilting flowers along with some lovely new roses and lilies. Almost all.... Except for one. A strong wind seemed to push Scrooge towards the lonely tombstone. He gasped loudly when he saw it was his own.
'Read it.' the ghost said, silently.
Scrooge swallowed hard before repeating allowed. "E-ben-en-ezer Sc-scrooge."
'Yesss...' The silent voice hissed inside the man's head. Before Scrooge knew it, another strong wind, obviously created by the ghost, blew and scrooge fell forward. In front of the tombstone was a large hole. Tears began to sting his eyes as he felt arms envelope him. It was a decomposing corpse that was his own.
"Ebenezer.... THIS IS YOUR FUTURE!"
Blue swirling smoke covered them and Ebenezer Scrooge opened his eyes and he was back on his cozy little armchair.
