...It rained, and it poured, and it rained some more. The rain was cold, hard, and relentless. It was swift, and rained coming from all directions. It flooded the streets, and caused the first ever "rain day". Students were given the day off due to the drenching downpour. Cars couldn't get in or out of the town without the fear of being swept away by the rivers that formed in the streets. It was bad. It had rained for a week straight now, with only one days rest, on wednesday. Any fool stupid enough to get caught in the tears of mother nature was either taken away by the current, or drenched for weeks, unable to get dry. The people feared almost sarcastically they would forget what sunshine was, or how to drive. One such person was Kenneth. Kenny was actually a girl, but her parents were a little on the loopy side and gave her a male name. Kenneth was what many people called stupid and impulsive, I considered her brave and clever. Kenneth wanted to drive, one day. Her parents did not own a car, so she put on layers of clothing, almost so much she couldnt move. She opened her front door, and waded onto the sidewalk. It was now too late for her parents to stop her, but they cried her name out anyways. They were never to see her again.
A few moments after leaving her parents house, there was a knock at our door. I went and answered it, and there was Kenny, laying on the ground, limp. She looked almost like a drowned rat. "Well, look what the cat dragged in..." Commented my father, picking up Kenny like a sack of potatoes. "Kailey, get a towel and start the fire again, we have to try to dry her up and get her warm." He said. I did as I was told, grabbed some clean, dry clothes from my closet, and started peeling off Kenny's layers until she only had on a wet t-shirt and some light pants (she had layered her pants as well)...
What do you think? I dont have anything else, I was inspired by the rainy day. Haha. :]
