Chapter One
You had just gotten off the plane and were now standing outside on the sidewalk, waiting for your uncle to come and pick you up like he had said he would when you called him. Thinking it would be as sunny as it was in California was probably your first mistake if trusting your uncle wasn't in it's place already. But nevertheless, you had dressed in your blue and white swimming top with a plain white tank top over it. The strings that tied together around your neck hung loosely over the tank as you messed with the black belt of your tan colored Capri’s. You didn't know what people in Japan wore and judging from your loose tied orange shoelaces to your tied up silverfish-white hair, you were a black dot on a white piece of paper.
Your black suitcase was neatly standing beside you while your blue and black book bag laid next to it as you looked down at your watch to see it was nearly five in the afternoon. "Great..." you mumbled as you picked up your book bag and threw it over you shoulder before grabbing the handle to your suitcase and rolling it away along the sidewalk. You had a plan... Get to your uncle's house and then kill him. Luckily, he had told you how to get to his house from the airport when you offered to take a cab, but then he refused to let you just come by yourself without a proper tour of the city. That right there should had told you something.
Two hours later…
You were now walking along the dirt path that your Uncle's house was down when you noticed a house just down the hill. "I thought he said it was big..." you said to yourself as you began to head down there. Now standing on the pouch, you found a pile of books just laying there and decided to see what your uncle was so preoccupied with to forget all about you. "Ah, what do we have here? Another beautiful girl on my porch." A voice said from behind as your left eyes twitched. "Look here buddy... I-" but you stopped once you turned around to see a strange man standing behind you with a grin on his face. He was taller then you and wore those Chinese robes you seen all the time in movies, tied loosely around his waste. His eyes were a dark shade of brown while his hair was black with almost a blue tint to it, but that was probably just from the sun.
"Who are you?" you asked, not recognizing the man standing before you. "I think I should be asking that question really." he said in an almost playful voice as you raised a brow, totally confused at this moment. You blinked a few times as you replayed everything that just happened. "His porch?" you thought to yourself as you looked around once again and then at the strange man who just stood there. "Oh, I'm sorry. I must have the wrong house." you finally answered. "Sorry. I think I'll leave now." you said quickly while hopping off the porch, grabbing the handle to your suitcase and running off with a stupid smile on your face and a quick wave. "Bye!" you yelled as you disappeared down the dirt path once again, leaving your book bag laying on his pouch.
The man looked down and picked up the bag you left behind, quickly yelling at you, "Miss, oh miss! You left your-" but he stopped once he lost sight of you. "Hmm... I think I'll just deliver this to her personally." he said with a big grin before another bag connected with the top of his head. "What do you think your doing Shigure?" A boy with dark gray hair and intense purple eyes asked the man now known as Shigure. "Well you see, a pretty girl came by and left this. Not exactly a glass slipper, but it‘ll do." Shigure said in his defense as the boy grabbed the bag from him. "I think you're lying again." The boy said as Shigure waved his hands in a dismissing matter. "No, no silly. I think it was our neighbor's daughter perhaps." Shigure said, now thinking quietly to himself. "Neighbors?" the boy repeated as Shigure looked at him. "Oh don't look so shocked Yuki. I'm sure I told you all about it." Yuki just looked at Shigure in a rather confused way. "Oh, and since you're holding her bag, I don't think it would hurt to go and deliver it to her, eh Yuki." Shigure said as he walked passed Yuki with a small pat to the back before disappearing behind the door. "Neighbors?" was all that came from Yuki's mouth as he looked down at the dirt path.
You continued walking, looking at the beautiful sunset as the birds chirped away. Suddenly, before you had anytime to stop, you walked straight dead into a wall. "Oww!" You yelled as you rubbed your forehead lightly and looked at the wooden wall which kind of reminded you of something a fortress would have around it. Looking down, you noticed you were standing in grass. "I was wondering if you would hit the wall or not." a familiar voice came from the side as you turned to see Daisuke standing there.
Out of everyone who was cursed, Daisuke had to have the most mystious eyesout of everyone who was cursed. It was always odd talking to him without stuttering or loosing yourself in those eyes of his. Daisuke held the curse of the Libra and was probably the most well-mannered of the twelve, including yourself, of the zodiac. You met Daisuke when you were tenandhad gotten lost at the family house one night during the festivities. He was the one who found you in the garden out back and helped you back to the party. Ever since then, you always thought of him as a best friend, maybe even a bit more at times but you always shook it off.
"Yeah... Uncle Kenji was suppose to pick me up, but I knew I should've just taken the cab." you said while shoving your hands into your pockets. "Yes, well Uncle Kenji isn't the brightest person in the world." Daisuke replied as he walked towards you and took the handle to your suitcase. "Is this all you brought?" he asked as you stood there, staring at him for a moment. Finally, you snapped out of your own thoughts and shook your head. "Yeah, my parents are shipping the rest of my stuff sometime this week so I only packed enough until then." you said, forgetting all about your bag as he smiled and began to drag your suitcase away.
"So, were is our lovely uncle at?" you asked as you followed him through the large gate that held the family crest twisted into the bars. "He went to go talk with Eien." Daisuke replied as you tried to remember who Eien was. After all, it had been a very long time since you even had time to think of your entire family.
Eien held the curse of the Scorpio and although he seemed calm and cool at times, he was always erupting like a volcano, getting into fights and starting them as well. As a Scorpio, he was probably the most, profound, intense, power person of the twelve cursed. You had met Eien when you were just a kid at the age of twelve. Even then you were pretty smart and Eien held up a good and pleasant conversation with you until you and him got into a heated debate about... Cookies. You believed sugar cookies were the best while he disagreed and said chocolate chip was way better. After that fateful day, he would always break out into an argument with you whenever the two of you were in the same room together.
Being as clueless as you were, you looked over at Daisuke. "What did he do this time?" you asked, now remembering who Eien was. "He ran away a few months ago and now, he has magically reappeared again. Miki called this morning to let us know and so uncle Kenji went to go talk and pick him up." Daisuke said as you walked up the small steps to the front door. "Oh I see. So are you the only one here then?" you asked as he opened the door and walked inside while you followed. Setting the suitcase up against the wall, he turned to look at you. "No, Ryo is here as well." Daisuke mentioned as your eyes went wide. "What!" you practically screamed as a loud voice boomed from the next room over. "Is that my lovely angel I hear?" the voice said as you quickly spun Daisuke around and hid behind him. "Don't let him see me!" you squeaked as he laughed.
Ryo always had a crush on you, even when you were little, and the fact that you only saw him once a year made the whole thing even worse because he always hung around you on that one day. Ryo held the curse of the Cancer and was always falling in love with girls, but since he couldn't hug them like he could you, you were his main target. It all started the same year you met Daisuke. It had been him who introduced Ryo to you.
Sliding out from the other room came a boy who stood around 5'9 with semi long blonde hair and golden eyes to match. He wore a somewhat tight black jacket with pants to match and a white tie that was loosely hanging around his neck. ((Think school uniform!)) The light orange sunglasses slid down his nose as he looked at Daisuke who continued to laugh. "So, were is my lovely angel at?" he asked as he talked in almost a singing voice. "You know, you can't hide from him forever." Daisuke said as you dropped your head onto his back, knowing your cover was blown. "I could've tried." you mumbled and looked up to see strands of blonde hair.
"Oh Amelia, how wonderful it is to see you!" Ryo's voice rang in your ear as he hugged you tightly. "C-ca-n't... B-r-breathe..." you said in a stutter and Daisuke just laughed at the two of you like he always did. "Now now Ryo, we don't want her dead on the first night back." he said with a chuckle as he grabbed the handle of your suitcase. Ryo's arms leapt away from you and jumped to the handle of your suitcase as he snatched it away from Daisuke. "I got it. Come on Amy, let's go to my-I mean, your room." he said with a great big smile as you looked at Daisuke for help. "You're seriously not going to leave me alone with him, are you?" you asked as he laughed once again and shook his head. "Come, we don't want to keep Ryo waiting." Daisuke said as he walked towards the staircase where Ryo happily waited for you. "Speak for yourself." you mumbled while following Daisuke.
Minutes later, you were standing in your room which was huge and empty besides the bed and dressers that were already laid out for you. Ryo would still be in your room if it wasn't for Daisuke who dragged him out to let you have time to settle in. The walls were painted a soft white while silver outlined the widows and the bed was done in blue. Everything was just so perfect, which was a surprise on your part. Sighing in relief, you walked over to your suitcase that was up against the bed and unzipped it halfway but came to a sudden stop. "My bag." you said to yourself and began to panic. "Ok... I left the airport with it... Walked partly through town... Dirt path... House..." but you stopped and ran to your door, opening it quickly to see Daisuke standing there, his hand outstretched, ready to grab the doorknob before you opened the door.
The two of you stood there in silence as you stared at one another. Soon though, Daisuke shook his head, regaining his senses. "Amelia, it seems you have a visitor." he said, his voice soft and gentle as you looked at him dumbfounded. "But I don't even... Unless it's family. Anyway, I don't have time to chat, I have to go get my-" but Daisuke finished your sentence for you. "Bag?" he asked as you blinked a few times and nodded. "But how did-" you began to say but stopped as you realized who the visitor probably was. "Not that old man again." you said, placing the palm of you hand on the side of your face. "Old man? But it's n-" but Daisuke couldn't finish the sentence as you began to walk down the hallway and soon, down the stairs with Daisuke following close behind, trying to explain who was at the door, but not getting anywhere with it.
In no time, you were standing in the doorway of the living room, your eyes locked with a boy who looked to be your age, holding your book bag in his hands. "Hello." you said with a smile as he bowed. "Hello." he replied as you blinked a few times more. "You don't have to bow really." you said as he stood up straight and looked at you. "I think this is yours." he said as he handed the bag to you which you gratefully took. Daisuke stood in the doorway silently. After all, if anything was to go wrong, the secret would have to be kept one way or another. "Oh thank you. I was just on my way to go get this back. By the way, I'm Amelia Amagawa. I just moved here." you said cheerfully as you extended your hand out towards him. "Yuki Sohma." he replied as he shook your hand.
"I'm home!" A voice boomed from the front door as your uncle Kenji walked in, his somewhat long blue hair swishing from side to side as his ocean blue eyes laid upon Yuki, you and Daisuke. "Oh Amelia! How wonderful it is to see you again!" He said happily as he slid across the floor to where you were standing and hugged you tightly. "I never get to see you anymore. It's all Eien's fault you know. He just refused to come with me!" he said as you felt the life being squeezed out of you for the second time today. "I don't blame him." you thought to yourself, but said nothing and put on a smile as the door slammed shut while an angry voice followed. "Shut up water boy before I-" but he stopped talking and looked straight at you.
"Hi Eien." you said happily with a wave as he stood there, still starring before looking at Kenji. "What the hell is she doing here!?" he yelled as your smile faded and you placed your hands on your hips. Kenji backed away as Daisuke shook his head before leading Yuki to the front door. "Thanks again for bringing her bag back, but it's getting late and we have school tomorrow, goodbye Yuki!" Daisuke said, knowing Yuki from school, before shutting the door.
Yuki stood there, facing the door with an odd look on his face. "Bye." he said quietly to himself before turning and heading back home.
Back inside the house...
Kenji was back in a corner while Daisuke passed you and Eien up carefully to stand next to Kenji. "I didn't think he would take it this badly." Kenji said while Daisuke stood, leaning up against the wall, watching you and Eien yell at one another with threats and the occasional pointing here and there in random directions as though one of you were trying to make some sort of a point.
At first, the two of you were fighting with words about you being there, then it was Eien who picked up the nearest thing, which happened to be an empty vase, and threw it at you. Ducking, the vase missed you but luckily, Daisuke had caught it before it hit the floor. "Oh, so now you're so desperate that you have to throw things at me! Don't you know you're not suppose to hit a girl!" you yelled as you could swear Eien's face was turning as red as a fresh picked cherry.
"I didn't hit you! That was the vase‘s job, you stupid goat! Why did you duck anyway! And sometimes, I wonder if you really are a girl! The way you just-" Eien yelled as your face became red. "How dare you, you stupid, ignorant sugar hating crab!" you yelled, picking up the nearest thing which was a pillow from the couch and sent it flying straight for his face, which it hit in the end. As the pillow dropped, Eien looked at you with pure rage. "Well if you'd come to your senses and realize chocolate chip is way better, then I think the world would be a better place!" Eien yelled in frustration as Kenji and Daisuke stood there with sweat drops growing larger by the second on the side of their heads.
"Whatever! I remember the time you stuffed your face with sugar cookies the New Years when Miki and Ryo tried to have one!" You yelled, knowing full well he liked every single one of them and that, if Sugar cookies were real people, they could easily take over the world. Yeah, you are nuts.
"Don't remind me!“ Eien replied as both he and you jumped into a fighting stance. "Now now, there's no reason to destroy the house." Kenji said, waving his hands about as both you and Eien ignored him. "What? Too scared that you're gonna loose?!" Eien yelled as your face became a hot red color. "Have I shown you the library yet, Amelia?" Daisuke asked in a calm voice as you turned your attention towards him. "Library? No." you said as your eyes become huge and starry. "But I'd love to see it!" you replied, clasping your hands together, and then latching onto Daisuke’s arm. "Come, I'll show you." Daisuke said while walking back up the stairs with you following eagerly beside him.
"Hey! You can't just leave!" Eien yelled as you completely ignored him and turned the corner, still following Daisuke. "H-Hey! I'm talking to you!" he screamed again as Kenji sighed. "Silly Eien, why not just let her settle in. After all, she just got here." Kenji said, referring to you. "Whatever." was all that came from his mouth as he went up the stairs and disappeared. Next thing to be heard was the door slamming.
The Next Day...
You were now dressed in a black sweater with sleeves way too long for your arms, but that was the way you liked it, and a simple pair of blue jeans that looked pretty faded out in some parts but that was just the style back in California. You left your long silver hair down and because you just brushed it out with your fingers once you had gotten out of the shower, you had small curls in it as well.
It was just turning two in the afternoon as you stood up from the chair in the empty classroom of Daisuke's high school and took the small packet of papers with you as you walked out into the hallway. Uncle Kenji decided that you would attend the same school as Daisuke, Ryo, and Eien although you told him you rather just stay home and be home schooled. Truth was, you didn't want to be near Eien or Ryo although you'd rather put up with Ryo then Eien at the moment. The school bell echoed throughout the hallway as you continued on your way to the office with the entrance exam in your hand.
Even though your scores at your old school was above average, this school still wanted you to take the exam to figure out what classroom to put you in, even after you told them your old schedule. The halls filled up pretty quickly as whistles started to ring in your ear along with those simple words you hated to hear in a sentence together. 'Hey cutie!' you would hear or, 'Wanna go out with me?'. Then there was the usual, 'Look at her hair.' and 'She is so weird.' This didn't bother you at all as you simply ignored them and continued on. "Those uniforms are so ugly... Geeze.... Why did I even come again?" you thought to yourself as you turned the corner only to bump into someone.
Quickly shutting your eyes, your grip on your exam became tight as you waited to transform but, there was no poof! Looking up, you noticed the same boy from the other day standing there, looking as shocked and scared as you were. "Sorry Yuki." you said quickly before walking around him and rushing back to the office.
Your face was completely red and your breathing became just a bit of a faster pace then it usually was. You continued walking, wondering why you hadn't transformed. It was clear that Yuki Sohma was not an Amagawa and therefore, did not hold the curse like you, but still, you should've changed when you bumped into him. It had happened before with other boys but why not him? Had the curse been broken somehow?
Now standing in front of the principle's office, you gently knocked on the door until a voice from the inside told you to come in. Taking a deep breath, you opened the door, walked inside, and carefully placed the exam on his desk. "I finished Sir." you said as you tried to calm yourself down a bit from the earlier incident.
"Ah, record time Miss Amagawa. I can tell already you'll be placed up with the best of this school." the man sitting in the black leather chair replied as he flipped through the pages of the exam. "I take it you've already filled the paperwork out and received a uniform?" he asked as you nodded. It all happened hours ago when your Uncle Kenji dropped you off before going to talk with Miki. "Yes Sir, I have." you told him as he gave a nod. "Well then, I will see you bright and early tomorrow morning." The man said, standing up and extending his hand out to you. "Yes, I look forward to it, Sir." you replied while shaking his hand. "Goodbye." you said before exiting the room and walking back out into the hallway.

Does this look familar to you? If it does then you've probably already read this fanfic on Quizilla. Yes, that's right! I am DarkDemonLove. XD If you were a huge fan of fanfics back in the day, you might even remember No Way Out: A Beyblade Fanfic. That, of course, was done under a different name. Unlike now, they didn't have categories you could set stuff up in so instead, you got one big old mess.
Anyway! I'd love to hear what you think about it! It's actually an old fanfic but I love comments! =P I'll be posting more chapters of this along with No Way Out soon! So make sure to check back!
