Old friends are nice. =)
Well, today I was at Wal Mart with my mother. I got to skip today to go to the orthodontist. Anyway, we're in Wal Mart and there was a table to get flu shots at, and I was freaking out. I didn't have a good experience the last time I got a flu shot ((it felt like my whole left side was going to collapse)). I got up, and I saw my mom's long time friend Karen standing there, and my friend Alix (her daughter) was standing there. Alix was the very first friend I ever had, and Alix has Williams Syndrome. It's a form of mental retardation, but it sure hasn't seemed to slow her down a bit. She ran up to me and gave me a huge hug, and she wouldn't let go. It had been...Almost a year since I'd seen her last, and it was nice to be able to see her again. I gave her a huge hug as well. As it turns out, she won a pageant for mentally disabled girls and got to be in the Buckwheat festival parade this year ((which I missed due to marching band...)). She seems so happy, so bubbly, and so loving. Just like she used to be when we were kids. It made me really happy to see her, and Karen too. Karen was like my second mother growing up, and I still count her as one of my mothers. It was kinda nice to have a reunion at Wal Mart...And Alix offered to hold my hand when I got my flu shot. wink It was cute.
