its been so long since i've written here
i do have something to rant about though
A GIRL.
she makes me upset at times like this. and her mother is scary. this girl asked for a solid black 30 foot long city scape (about 4 feet tall and made of cardboard) to be painted for her sweet sixteen. Feeling i needed the challenge i took it on. alone. just me. i painted it all. and i was damn proud of it. Turns out the cityscape was used for a show raising money for the arts program at my old high school that is held every year. every year i attended that show with dedication, hoping to help the program (and in return myself i admit) either in the show or helping at it.
nobody except this girl and her mother knew i painted that cityscape used as a backdrop.
they didn't tell the cast members
they didn't tell the drama teacher.
I only pray that my art teacher (who asked for a volunteer to paint it in the first place) was there and knew i did it.
i saw it in the drama room while attending the first dress rehearsal for this years musical. Still she has refused to tell the cast members it was I who painted it. All i wish is for a little credit, for someone who wants to be an artist community recognition is key...and that was stolen from me. No matter how much i put my art out there i gain no recognition for it. this was damn icing on the cake.
