It's always dark here; that's probably why I love it so much. I love the calmness that surrounds you in the middle of the night. Some people find it creepy or scary, but I don't see it that way. Sure, sounds do emit from the darkness of the night, but most are natural calls from nocturnal animals. I surround my existence around the dark hours. I work more efficient when no one is awake. There are no distractions and no one ordering me to drop what I'm doing just so I can gallivant off to do what they want me to do. Since school rekindled itself I haven't had much time to just work on my books. This makes me very sad.
I love to study in the dark as well. Books upon books are piled high atop my rarely used bed while I sit comfortably on my nice futon. Text books about love, life, art, science, literature; you name it, and it's there. I also practice my drumming and piano in the dark cover of midnight. At this time, the world is my playground, study hall, and comfort zone. I can be myself without judgment or critiquing. My works spill onto the page with ease. Well, off I go to do some more independent studying.
