I sighed, waiting in the car for my stupid baby sister to hurry up to the truck. She had all day to talk to Princess and she needs to hurry up. Finally I saw her walking over in my direction. She got in the car, completely silent. Not like usual.
"We're gonna drive through somewhere and get a bite to eat, 'kay?" I said, starting the car. She was still silent. I looked at her. "Mimi? Are you okay?" She finally looked up at me. Her eyes were red and puffy and tears were streaming down her face. "What happened?" I asked, frowning now.
"J - Jesse . . . H - He . . . " Mimi stammered, trying to hold back her tears. I waited for her to finish. "A girl . . . pregnant."
"Jesse got another girl pregnant!?" I shouted incredulously. Mimi nodded, sobbing profusely. I sighed. Here we go. I got out of the car without a word, walking across the school parking lot. When I saw Scottie, I tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around, looking at me inquisitively.
"Hey. Follow me, I need you to have my back," I mumbled to him. Without asking any questions, Scottie nodded and followed me as I looked for Jesse. It was as if he knew exactly what was gonna go down. When I found him, I made a beeline his way.
"Ay, Jesse!" I called, smiling and sounding as if we were close friends. Jesse looked away from his group of friends and smiled at me.
"What's up Jack?" Jesse greeted, he moved toward me, and once he was within my reach, I swung. A large CRACK! resounded throughout the parking lot. Everyone stared with shock.
"Look, a*****e. Stay away from my sister. And if you ever talk to her again, you'll get more than a black eye. Got it?" I spat, walking away with pride. People seemed to step aside so I could walk past. Oh the advantages of power.
