Description - Charlotte is a woman of average height, with short curly brown hair and gold colored eyes, a trait which runs in the Arthram family. She has sharp features and fairly tanned skin. There's a scar on her cheek, a reminder of the wound she sustained in the battle that made her a war hero. Charlotte is proud of her scar, and refuses to hide it behind make up or corrective surgery. Charlotte has an average bust, and is fairly average overall, body wise. She is very muscular, a trait from her military lifestyle.
Clothing - Military uniform, most of the time. If you want to experiment with clothing, you should know that Charlotte has an eye for fashion, and only wears the best when she's in civilian clothes. She prefers warm colors, as well as purples and violets.
Personality - Charlotte is fairly closed off with her emotions. She's stern, and quick with a reprimanding word for the soldiers under her. She's proud of her accomplishments, but she doesn't boast about them; she'll let her scar and medals tell their own stories. Charlotte doesn't open up to anyone but her closest friends and family, and even then rarely. A sincere smile on her face happens fairly rarely, and laughter even less. A scowl or frown is much more common, though Charlotte has excellent control of her temper. As she spends time away from the battle field and with her loved ones, she'll open up more and more often.
Character History - Charlotte was born to Nathaniel and Janet Arthram. Her early childhood was spent with her loving mother, with visits from her father whenever he could get time. Charlotte loved both of her parents dearly. Her first memory is dancing with her father at a military ball; she wanted to join up ever since. When her father didn't come home for her sixth birthday, the little girl was devastated. There was a quiet funeral for him, and the loss cemented Charlotte's desire to join. Her mom was against it; she didn't want to lose any more family members to war.
For two years, it was just the two of them. Janet worked hard to support the family. Charlotte slowly came out of the shell she'd put up after her dad died. Unfortunately, Janet caught sick, and the little money they did have wasn't nearly enough to pay for medical treatment. Janet knew this, so she started looking for someone else to take care of her little girl; she didn't want Charlotte to end up in an orphanage.
The search was slow and frustrating, taking over a year. Janet grew worse every day; Charlotte retreated into her shell again, not wanting to lose her mommy as well. Janet had a single lead: Tib, the name of Nathaniel's mysterious father. She called in favors to search military records, asked friends, did anything she could to find out who this Tib was. Her breakthrough came from sheer luck: there was an old man named Tiberius who'd moved into town two years back. He often answered to the name Tib, and that was all Janet needed to know to seek him out. He confirmed his status as Charlotte's grandfather, though he didn't want the responsibility of raising the girl. It took some time, but eventually the man agreed. Janet died not long after.
Charlotte was aloof around the man at first, often lashing out as best she could once she was over her grief at losing her mom. The first years together were the hardest. It was only after Charlotte caught sick and had to be nursed back to health that things started improving. There were still rough patches, especially when Charlotte refused to be persuaded against joining the military, but the two started to bond.
When Charlotte was 17, she joined the marines. She did it impulsively, after a long fight with her grandfather, and was immediately shipped off to basic training. It was the hardest few months of the girl's life, and she changed from a bratty, sarcastic teenager into a hard-working, stern young woman. She was sent off to the front lines immediately afterwards, and quickly rose through the ranks; the war with Eulur made sure of that.
Charlotte actually led the unit that ended the war. The battle was not going well for the Arcovans. Charlotte and hers were actually ensconced in an out of the way fortification. They ventured out when the enemy was well past them trying a last minute maneuver to capture the highest ranking officer on the field. The maneuver was a success, though there were heavy losses to the unit. Charlotte got her scar from the chain whip the general wielded; she gave him a scar to match. A ceasefire was called, and peace negotiations were started. Tensions are still high between the countries. but the fighting has, for the moment, ceased.
Charlotte was rewarded a Medal of Fire, one of the highest honors bestowed to soldiers. She was promoted to lieutenant colonel, and now works to increase her rank even more.
Currently, Charlotte has been volunteered for an experiment by a superior. She was sent to a distant world when the experiment went awry, and is enjoying a vacation while a way home is being found for her.
