A Night in Raccoon City

There is no night as peaceful, as safe as a night in Raccoon City.
In houses and apartment buildings throughout the city, people barricade their doors and desperately try to stay awake, while outside- in the streets, sewers, and small, dark alleys- there are things that should only be found in your worst nightmares.
There are people. Horrible people with rotting flesh and bloodstained clothes that were once normal, but are now infected and hungry for brains. Zombies.
There are dogs. Vicious dogs that were infected by the zombies that smell like rotten meat and emit horrible howls before they kill their victims.
And if you are one of those few people in Raccoon City who are still uninfected, and if you end up falling asleep, you probably won’t be alive to see another day.
Outside the door, a zombie is shuffling by, looking for brains to eat.
You hear screams coming from the apartment next door. It looks like the zombie found some.
And, if you lie very, very still, you might hear a grenade going off.
Listen:
BANG!
Later, people will come out and attempt to fight the zombies. But only when they think that they have found enough weapons.
And all around you on a night in Raccoon City are the screams and cries that people make when they are trying, like you, to stay alive.
Outside...
A person is chopping a zombie’s head off with a chainsaw.
Another is shooting a zombie with a machine gun.
And one of the people is bitten by a zombie that they didn’t see coming.
And toward morning, one person will be the first to tell everyone that there are even more zombies coming.
The people will run out of ammo, the zombies will surround them, and they will all either die or become infected.
Did I say that Raccoon City is peaceful and safe? Well, I lied.
...you’re totally screwed.
