Admiral Hazique's navigational Logbook
This is the logbook, diary and journal of Admiral Hazique Izwan of the former Royal Johore Sultanate Admiral and privateer... and the recent Malaysian Royal Navy Rear-Admiral.
Saturday, January 13th 1795.
Johore Royal Palace, Tanjung Puteri or as known as Johore Bahru (New Johore).

It has been a very long time since I carved my history on the Greatest Seafarers Hall of Fame. I was known as the Viking of the Orient, due to my expertise in dominating the world's sea trade routes. Not even the so-called strong Imperialists would dare to stop me at that time. I was known as the cruel main engineer behind the fall of Venice, with my sophisticated Malacca empire. But the Portuguese came and successfully avenged Venice's death by destroying my Malacca. My plan was a failuren and I had to start it all over again.

Pagoh and Muar was not a very nice spot for me to built a new empire, an empire that I hope will surpass every Imperialists in this very small earth. Thus, the most suitable place would be Johore Bahru... or Tanjung Puteri where I'm standing right now.

My quest starts again when I was called to Istana Besar Johor (Johore Royal Palace) to meet my dear beloved fellow friend. My most-admired sultan who is also the Malay Prince of Pirates. Even the feared Captain Bartholomew Roberts would bowed down in respect when he hears this name. This name is also stated as the sole Conqueror of the South China Sea in the seat of the Brethren Court. And what makes him more respected and feared is his pirates and privateers are also the admirals in his growing and vast naval armada. The armada which can overrun the Thai kingdom and any other kingdoms in the South East Asia within a single attack at all.

His name is Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim, son of Temenggung Abdul Rahman. The title Daeng itself has brought fear towards fellow pirates since it bears the reputation of the Malay Bugis people as the most notorious pirates in the whole South East Asia.

Ah.. so we met each other, hugging and chuckling as a sign of close-friendship and the son-caretaker relationship. He then took me to the shipyard, and pointed his old 50-guns frigate... a nice moderate ship with full-rigged sails and being told as so-close to the winds. Hmm... 4 nine-pounder guns on the upper deck can be nice for a close-quarter combat.

He gave me the ship, which was much to my surprise as he said that he wanted a new 100-guns ship of the line and he had ordered it from the Boustead Shipyard Inc. in London. Very nice move, Daeng Ibrahim.

With that also, he bestowed me with the title Daeng... and he wanted me to live as a true Malay Bugis to the end. Pirating, exploring and commanding the naval armada will always be my job forever, he said.

I could only sighed and nodded. Very well then, I shall be a seafarer again. With that, Quallah Batoo or in Malay, Kuala Batu will be my hidden naval base and with Daeng Ibrahim's intention, the nice bay not far from the naval base will be the safe haven for the pirates. A pirate city like tortuga and Port royal will be constructed there and the pirates from every corners of the world will enjoy full protection from the Johore sultanate as long as they agree to cooperate with the sultans in fighting against the Imperialists.

I must say that was a very nice move... combining the pirates and the naval power wasn't a bad idea after all. And with that, I gathered lots of manpower and ammunition before I planned to sail to Kuala Bato tomorrow morning, after Subuh (sunrise) prayer.

Admiral of the Johore Sultanate Empire
