Personality: Ashido is rather serious most of the time, having carried the mental scars created by the deaths of his teammates for many centuries. The very reason Ashido stayed in Hueco Mundo so long was to avenge the deaths of his friends and protect the human world by killing as many Hollows as he possibly could. He met Rukia and saved her on several occasions, and would have left the forest with her group if he had not been forced to save them from the Menos. Even after several centuries of living alone in Hueco Mundo, Ashido still harbors a sense of sorrow at having lost his companions and visits the site of their death from time to time to pay his respects. He later brings Rukia to this same spot, claiming that it would be nice if his deceased friends could hear the voice of another Shinigami.

Abilities: Ashido is granted a great speed increase, despite the new size of his zanpakuto he is still able to wield it as if it was his sealed form. The area becomes hot, not extremely hot but enough for anyone within a 50 yard radius to notice. His reiatsu can now create ash which can be used to explode, no matter the extent of the explosion Ashido will only receive a very minor effect of the explosion. While most of the time he will only use the ash, he is also granted a basic use of fire.
Attacks:
• Ashes of the Fallen- This technique utilizes his ability to control and manipulate the ash ability of his zanpakuto. He can place ashes in one condensed area for a large explosion of a small radius, or he can spread it out over the battle field to ensure a hit but at the cost of lowering its effectiveness.
• Fire of the Forgotten- This technique is the hottest fire utilized in a shikai attack, it can be used to set a perimeter for the battle. But its most common use is a concentrated ball to be fired at the opponent to cause maximum damage.
• Blast from the Past- This is his variation of a cero, it is as powerful and effective as a cero from a released Arrancar. Reiatsu will gather in the eyes of the mask he wears, when fired the blast covers a large area 6 feet wide and can travel up to 100 yards. The blast is a large beam of reiatsu, meaning anyone who attempt to knock it out of the way will be caught in it's effective range.

Abilities: He does not use his Bankai for the fact that it is weaker than his Shikai when he is uninjured, but if he has sustained serious injuries or is on the brink of death its power is nearly unmatched. Ashido will only use his Bankai if he absolutely needs to, it calls upon the spirits of his fallen teammates. The zanpakuto he holds in his right hand is his own, but the one in his left is composed of his fallen comrades reiatsu and has formed a solid secondary zanpakuto. He gains the ability to use a spirit much like the Bankai of Sajin Komamura (captain of squad 7 in Bleach), but it is transparent and can cover itself in a blue fire. Its heat intensity is only comparable to the sun or the core of the earth, if hit by or consumed by the flames to many times or for to long of a period the opponent will be erased from existence by the heat of the flames. If he is not on the brink of death or injured in a serious manor, he cannot use the Spirit nor can he use the attacks to their full potential. The fire that can cover the spirit can only stay lit for 5 posts and can only be used once, it is not an attack do to it being an enhancement to the spirit rather than an attack that can be used throughout a battle.
Attacks:
• Ashes of the Beloved- Much like the Shikai attack, but this one utilizes much more ash, and even in a widespread area it will still cause a good deal of damamge.
• Will of Fire- Again much like the Shikai attack, it can be used to create a perimeter or can be used as a concentrated attack. But he can now cover boith zanpakuto in the flames, so not only will they need to worry about his flamed attacked but if they do not get out of the way completely his spirit will make contact and the effects will still be felt.
• Heart Felt Blast- And again much like the Shikai attack this is an advanced form of his variation of a cero, much like the previous it is a beam. But this time the spirit shoots it out and considering its huge stature, the beam can wipe out a whole forest. Considering how large it is this will take much longer to set up, but that being said Ashido does not need to charge it only his spirit will charge it. So Ashido can continue to fight as the spirit charges the attack, this can make the attack much more dangerous. But Ashido will have to get out of the way as well, so he will be cautious when using this attack.

Tattoos/scars/birthmarks: Scars cover his body from his past battles in Hueco Mundo and burn marks from enduring the heat of his released zanpakuto in order to build a resistance to it.

Mask Shield: Ashido carries a shield crafted from Hollow masks. The shield has proven to be of great use, for it can withstand and deflect Cero blasts from both Gillian-class and Adjuchas-class Hollows.
Cloak: Ashido wears a fur cloak with many Hollow masks attached to it. The cloak also hold Ashido's Mask Shield when he is not using it.
Mask (New): Ashido is usually wearing a Hollow mask covering his face. The mask was obtained when Ashido defeated the second coming of the Exequias. Ashido defeated thousands of them before releasing his Shikai, after realizing there was no end to them he found Rudbornn Chelute. Upon a hard fought battle Ashido finally was at the brink of death without realizing it his Bankai activated, shortly after its activation he won the battle. He took the mask from his opponent and kept it returning to his cavern where he resided.

Background History:
• Hundreds of years ago, Ashido and his unit fought against a large number of Hollows. As Ashido's unit pursued the Hollows, they began to retreat through a Garganta into Hueco Mundo. Ashido and his unit followed the Hollows through the Garganta and ended up in the Forest of Menos. Ashido and his unit knew where they were and continued fighting the Hollows despite this, but the fighting eventually attracted several Menos Grande. The Menos Grande attacked and fired Cero blasts, killing several of Ashido's comrades. The Hollows eventually overwhelmed Ashido's unit and killed all but Ashido and one of his comrades. As Ashido went to face the group of Hollows alone, he left his friend to rest, but a Hollow attacked and fatally wounded his friend. Ashido's friend managed to kill the Hollow, but died soon afterwards. Enraged by his comrade's death, Ashido grabbed the mask of the slain Hollow and killed the remaining Hollows himself. Ashido decided to stay in the Forest of Menos and kill as many Hollows as he could in order to protect the Human World.
After saving Rukia several times, she had promised him she would return after saving her friend Inoue. Ashido decided he would stay behind until they save their friend so he could hold off the hollows, Rukai left and didn't return as promised. Ashido decided that he was forgotten, so instead of dwelling on it he decided that he would continue fighting the hollows from within the forest of menos. Ashido took on twice as many hollows at a time in order to increase the chances of minimizing the hollows that attempt to escape into the human world. Ashido didn't stop until he was exhausted then he would return to his cave to sleep and the next day he would fight once again. Ashido never gave up in his attempts to minimize the hollows numbers, soon he was noticed by stronger opponents. Little did Ashido know, but his zanpakuto was ready to release, shortly after a battle with several Adjuchas he achieved his Shikai by learning his zanpakuto's name. Ashido then decided it would be best to fight stronger hollows, so he could take out a majority of their army and help the Gotei from behind enemy lines. Ashido had little to no problems fighting the stronger foes at first, but soon he found himself outmatched.
Ashido fought against a Vasto Lorde that claimed he was the last of Aizen's army, Ashido was not intimidated nor did he fear the outcome of the battle. Ashido and the arrancar were evenly matched unreleased, soon Ashido began to gain the upper hand. The arrancar released his resurrection showing he had at least a basic fighting experience, Ashido could only take the arrancar more seriously as the opponent was now taking him seriously as well. Several times throughout the battle the arrancar stated how strong Ashido was, Ashido shrugged the comments off not liking the arrancar commending him on anything. Ashido was finally being overwhelmed, so on instinct alone activated his shikai, soon after the arrancar was then outmatched. Though the arrancar was badly injured he still pushed forward wanting to take out Ashido, but in his attempt to take out Ashido he was injured even more. The arrancar began to feel helpless, upon the arrancar falling to the ground Ashido assumes the battle is over. The arrancar begins to laugh as his body begins to grow and his muscles enhance making Ashido believe the abilities of the arrancar is to gain power upon being near dead. Ashido smiles now acknowledging the power increase of his opponent, stating "you may seem strong, but your mind is weak." The arrancar took the statement as a cocky taunt and rushed in, smashing Ashido into a wall. The arrancar then backs up and goes on to speak, "my mind may be weak to you, but it is not my mind that will kill yo......." Before being able to finish his statement, Ashido had used his flash step to close the gap and cut the arrancar's arm off. The arrancar narrowed his eyes towards Ashido, "how are you able to move after my full powered charge?" Ashido just stood there and swung his blade to fling the blood from it, "you are not as strong as you think you are, you should tuck your tail between your legs and run." The arrancar's eyes widened as he felt the spiritual pressure from Ashido raise.
Ashido was unaware of the power increase he had received, still not turning to face the arrancar he stood still waiting to see what the arrancar would do to retaliate. The arrancar rushed forward once again putting its head down aiming its horns at the shoulder blades of Ashido. Ashido still did not turn to face him but he was aware of the opponent charging at him, instead of dodging Ashido quickly spun sending his elbow into the left side of the arrancar's face. After flipping and rolling several times, the arrancar finally got to its feet enraged that the shinigami could easily throw him aside as if he were a low leveled hollow. Soon the arrancar released his Segunda Etapa, this had been the first time Ashido witnessed such a release, he was speechless just gazing at the giant hollow who now turned a gray color and his horns grew even larger as well as his body, gaining muscle mass that Ashido had never imagined possible. As the body of his opponent shifted Ashido didn't concern himself with the details of the transformation, rather he attacked before the opponent could have possibly been ready. Ashido sent a fireball flying towards the opponent, after it made contact the Hierro of the new transformation had stopped the blast as if it were a beach ball. The arrancar then stepped down causing a crater to form under its foot, Ashido was amazed at the pure destruction of a simple step. Ashido decided he would attack once more, using flash step he reached the head of the opponent that now towered as tall as a skyscraper. Ashido used his full strength to swing his zanpakuto at the arrancar's head, as it made contact not a single scratch was found, instead the arrancar laughed and swatted Ashido to the ground.
Ashido after being placed in pain from the force of the air pressure smashing him into the ground, he finally stood up gazing through his own blood to look at his opponent who was bigger and stronger than any other opponent he had ever faced before. The arrancar began to laugh even louder, "what are you giving up all of a sudden, am I too strong for you?" Ashido then smirked knowing he was far from finished with this opponent, Ashido charged his strongest attack in his shikai form. As the reiatsu gathered in his masks eyes, the blast fired towards the huge opponent in a beam. The arrancar didn't dodge or block the attack rather it attempted to take it thinking it would be as weak as the other attempts so far, but as the beam hit the arrancar it took him off balance causing him to fall on his back. Seeing the opening, Ashido attempted to take advantage of the downed opponent. Ashido used flash step to get far above the head of the arrancar, using gravity and his strength he began to fall pointing his blade between the eyes of the opponent, as the blade made contact the arrancar punched Ashido sending him flying across the battlefield. Ashido tumbled into a pillar breaking through it and four more before rolling to a stop, covered in blood he fought to stand up, looking towards his opponent he seen blood coming from the wound of the arrancar.
Ashido was breathing heavy as he felt his body begin to shutdown and his limbs falling limp, it felt as if just his arm weighed 100 pounds. Ashido could barely hold his head up any longer, the arrancar enraged that the shinigami could even graze his new Hierro much less cause him to bleed. The arrancar charged forward grabbing Ashido by the neck swiping him off his feet and battering him through several more pillars, finally the arrancar decided to stop and pin him against one of the pillars, "how dare you break through the strongest Hierro of the arrancar, I will make you pay with your life." Ashido was struggling to stay conscious, soon after the arrancar stopped talking Ashido dropped his zanpakuto unable to keep a grip on it. Ashido fell unconscious, his spirit began to yell in order to wake him up, calling out to him several times before Ashido's spiritual pressure skyrocketed and his zanpakuto flew up fusing to his right arm. Ashido opened his eyes to see the arrancar yelling and shaking his hands trying to extinguish the blue flames that now covered his hands. Ashido was unaware he ha even released hi bankai, looking down noticing he was holding his zanpakuto he seen it was now simply apart of his right hand, looking towards his opponent once again his vision went blurry and the spirits of his fallen comrades stood before him. Ashido shed a tear looking at them, "I am sorry I was unable to save you from the hollows, but...." He was interrupted by his friends all together speaking, "it was meant to be like this, but it is ojay, as long as you live our power will be yours to use." Soon after they finished speaking they shifted into a single sword, Ashido took hold of it with his left hand letting the one tear fall from his face and onto the blade causing it to be covered in a blue flame.
Ashido looked at the arrancar, furious that the shinigami had burnt him he was already charging. Ashido opened his right hand, placing it towards the charging opponent, as he did a huge hand shot forward with an open palm stopping the charging arrancar in his tracks as if he was a little kid trying to come at an adult. The arrancar jumped back, looking up to see how he was stopped by someone so small only to see a large spirit standing behind Ashido. His eyes grew seeing something that was bigger than himself and was stronger as well. The arrancar began to charge a cero, at the same time Ashido's spirit began to charge a blast as well. Ashido began to walk towards the arrancar, as he neared him the arrancar shot the cero at him attempting to kill him be fore Ashido was able to attack in his new form. Ashido raised the spirit blade and swung it cutting the cero in half with little effort, the arrancar charged at him seeing the spirit didn't move when Ashido did. Ashido swung his right hand as the arrancar neared him causing the arrancar to be impaled in the gut by Ashido's zanpakuto. Soon the arrancar fell to its knees, attracting more hollows, they began to rush the area from behind the arrancar who was in pain and doubled over. Ashido used flash step to get behind his spirit just in time for the blast to fire towards the now thousands of hollows including hundreds of Gillian class hollows, the beam lit up the entire side of Hueco Mundo in a light blue light. When the blinding light had vanished, all the hollows that were in its path had vanished with it. Ashido soon collapsed from the injuries he had sustained previous to the release of his bankai, he had stayed unconscious for a long time leaving him vulnerable to the man that retrieved him from the battlefield.
Ashido awoke in a mansion that was unfamiliar to him, seeing a man with blue hair and mask remains on his left jaw line. Ashido knew it was an arrancar that sat beside him, after waking up fully the man was gone. Ashido was unsure if it was a dream or what, but instead of waiting around to see he left returning to his cave. Ashido then spent even longer still fighting off hollows and such trying to find a way to escape, hundreds of more years passed still unable to find a way out. Ashido finally seen his chance, as some Adjuchas opened a garganta to the human world he used flash step and instantly cut them down and entered the garganta and stepping into the human world. Karakura town, it had been the first time in thousands of years since the last time he seen the human world. Ashido soon found himself wandering through the streets only to be confronted by a hollow once again, it had not even been a full hour and he was already faced with another hollow. He then realized that his efforts to minimize the hollows numbers in the human world was useless for it didn't even help. Ashido seen a shinigami laying on the ground behind the hollow making him believe that the hollow had already taken a victim, Ashido cut down the hollow without breaking a sweat and went to the aid of the man. Soon the man gained consciousness only to see he was inside a shack and Ashido was sitting across the room. The man asked "what is your name, I was not told of anymore shinigami being sent here." Ashido sighed, "I don't believe the Gotei even knows I exist." After a few days the man recovered and opened the Senkaimon allowing Ashido to pass through it and return to the Soul Society.
Ashido went through many tests upon his arrival, not only to test his abilities but to also test his loyalty since he spent so long in Hueco Mundo, soon Shikairu Kuchiki let him stay in the Soul Society. Ashido was happy to be back, and wanted to stay away from any high positions for the time being so instead he was placed as an academy instructor. Hearing of the Head Captains death, Ashido was called into a meeting since everyone knew of his experience and his abilities they decided that he was the only option they had left. Ashido accepted after debating with them about the decision, he finally gave in and took the position to lead the Gotei 13. Ashido now mostly sits in his office trying to figure out their next move, most of the captains have agreed to attempt to make Ashido's life easier by taking on their responsibilities and finishing them quickly and effectively in order to keep the Gotei 13 running at full speed. Ashido has made many friends but with his sudden appearance and promotion he has also angered a few high positioned officers of the Gotei 13 since they believe someone who has been in the Gotei 13 longer would be a better fit as the Head Captain. But Ashido doesn't let them get him down, nor does he care what others think for the most part since they only insist on complaining instead of doing their job or training to raise in ranks later and possibly lead their divisions or possibly the Gotei 13 someday.
