Alrighty then lets get down to business...(TO DEFEAT...THE HUNS!). This might be a rather long post because I will be telling you about last Monday to last Saturday. Grant it it wont be specific but ill try to be close in detail.
All right then. On Monday morning it was a beautiful sunny day. We left our church at about 8 or 8:30. We were doing alright until about 10:30 when our tire blew out. That took close to 2 hours to fix. We then got slightly lost. We didn't end up at the camp, Northland Baptist Bible College, until 4 when we were suppose to be there around 1:30-2pm.
After we registered we were able to get settled a little bit before we had supper at 4:30. Its the joy of sports camp. After that nothing big happened Until the service. The preacher was Moris Gleiser. He was a good preacher. He was a very illustration type preacher. Some of his stories or illustrations were funny, one almost made me cry. Anyway, the preaching was awesome all week. I made some decisions on Thursday and Friday. Thursday, Brother Gleiser talked about Sampson and the three problem areas in his life. I had for sure one of those problems: The problem with authority. In the Bible it said to obey honor our parents I wasn't honoring, obeying with a good attitude, my mom. I was also selfish when it came to my mom. I wanted to do what i wanted to do. I just obeyed because I had too and I also didn't want to help her out with her teaching responsibilities. Everyone thinks its so wonderful to have a parent as a teacher but they don't see the side of the teacher that works hard at home and after school to be able to get everything done for the next few days of teaching. They don't get asked to help with arranging the room etc. But the Lord spoke to my heart about being thankful for my mom and all she does. I'm also thankful for a mother who is a Christian too. Another area the Lord spoke to me about is just continuing to read his Word daily instead of weekly. Witnessing to my friends and relatives is the last area the Lord spoke to my heart about. Just being a better witness online and off.
I started with the spiritual side of camp because that is where the focus is on. The focus is on God and how great and awesome he is and the rest of the fun is just a small part of camp. That's my personal belief.
Well, our camp is at a college(see NBBC) and the regular teen campers stay in cabins but sport campers stay in the college dorms which is pretty awesome. We have access to all dorm things: kitchen um laundry room if really necessary. Over all its cool. I stayed in room 111.There where 4 other girls beside me and a counselor(Victoria, Brianne, Jenny, Susanne). My counselor's name was Chelsie Czichray. She is Asian but really nice and cool. The assistant counselor who was the adult in my room...her name was Sara Denny, who is also Asian(Korean). Sara goes to Northland for school. She allowed us to stay up past lights out and other fun stuff. Um nothing more to say about housing I guess...
We ate the dining hall and occasionally a meal was in the pines. The pines are the picnic area at the camp. Unlike most camp food, Northland's is actually pretty good. I mean it may not be like home cooking you get at your own house but hey its food and when your hungry it doesn't really matter if it is really greasy. The bad thing is that after practically every meal we had a practice and sometimes i felt that after breakfast i might barf but i am thankful I didn't.
As far as the schedule is concerned it was fairly ok. I mean we didn't have like 3 hours of free time everyday but time goes by more quickly if you have things to do. We usually had about ...lol 3 hours of free time in a day maybe a little more.We spent most our time in the gym though. Well practice was about and hour and half to 2 hours then in the evening we'd have a service that was about 2 or 2 and a half hours long.
Well what else....OH YEAH! We were spilt up into teams and unluckily enough i got stuck with the people from my church. Not that its bad but we are at the same level more or less and i kinda wanted to be put in with people who were better than me so I could have some sort of goal to become better to match them. But we all know life isn't fair. Um, my coaches' names were Melissa and Tracy. Our team's name was Thacker's Whackers because Thacker is Melissa's last name. The funny thing was that Sarah is the name of like half he volleyball campers and that's no joke. 50-60 girls so about 25-30 maybe little less where named Sarah. I hate my name for that reason...its SO over used.Anyway,oh yes, i was able to see my former youth pastor and his wife along with their adoptes son. Its was very nice to see them again.
Ok I shall continue with the weather. Well it was ok cept it rained and on Wednesday we had to go to the basements because there was a tornado warning. If y'all know me you know I'm freaked out by storms. It wasn't that bad though. I think I'm slowly starting to get used to the thunderstorms etc. But I'm still scared. We had a blast in the Fine Arts basement XD.
Well as far as injuries i got none thankfully. I got three blisters and a bruise though. No one else was seriously hurt but one girl messed her knee up and another messed an ankle up. One time when i went for band-aids, a guy's shoulder was out of its socket. Well that's what i think he said was wrong.
Well now thats left to talk about is......BOYS! Lol yeah there were some pretty hot guys at camp. But some girls in my group think some guys are ugly while i think different XD. There was one guy who helped the volleyball camp his name was Peter. He was really hot but I didnt get enough courage to ask him to sign my t-shirt that we got for going to sports camp. The funny thing is there was one boy in a girls volleyball camp. His name was Byron(thats an AWESOME NAME!). He was a pretty good v-ball player too. Not to mention he was nice and funny. Ok so maybe I do have crush on him but I dont care. His sister said he hangs pout with girls but doesnt like them...thats cool. He also lives in North Carolina....he has a slight accent which is kinda hot XD.Ok enough about Byron. XD
Well there you have it! I know I skipped a few things but i gave you the jist of it.If i worte everything i remembered then I'd need an indefinate amount of space for this jounal entry but since i dont I need to just stop here with the basics. I didnt write funny things but hey...space..and time!
Oh...heres a pic of volleybeall campers XD:
NOTE:Byron is the far left person in the third row from the front.
