We're almost done patching up our ship! We were just 'bout to prepare to kick back and relax when a gust of wind blew. Everyone knows this gust of wind, and it means trouble. There's a huge storm headin' our way, and we can't outrun it either. Mischief in a Sock, if we don't stow away our leakin' holes, we're all going down for the fishes tonight. And it ain't for dinner either. Got to go and help Wood bang a few more planks over them holes.
Wood's all a-sweating. I get over and hold the protesting pieces of blasted wood down for Wood, and he thumps them good with a nail. We barely finished when the storm came in. Lashed all our supplies to the kitchen, we did. Nat manned the wheel, and I helped Reni with the sails. If only our patching up for the holes don't come apart, we'll be fine. O' course, the storm's getting worst, so I have to quit writin' in this ol' journal and stow it away before some bit of water gets it all wet. And maybe I'll have to use that magic to help us crew from drowning.
