The good thing about being sealed in a bunker *rose*
The Blueaecid Home's bunker, home base for ANTIE, was really quite an ingenious structure. It was completely sealed off from above in many ways. It had it's own air generator (turning CO2 into breathable oxygen), its own generator (run on a semi-continous motion machine that had to be cranked once a decade), and vast supplies. The bunker was impervious to nuclear attacks, virus attacks, atomic attacks, and was even shielded so that an EMP blast would only do minimal damage. The shielding on the bunker could pretty much eliminate any outside interferences.
Even telepathic remote controllers.
Only a short time after being laid down on the cot in the guest room, Rose's eyes fluttered open. ANTIE-D had only begun to do a scan of her, and was surprised. Even more so at Rose's shocked and angry response.
"Who are you? Did you do this to me? Where are my friends!" Rose blurted, and hopped off the cot. She dashed through the door, which had been left unlocked, and into the main room. She stopped short when she saw Taran and the gwees, though, taking their ease.
'Be at ease, Rose.' Jaa said, hovering near her. 'You are with your friends.' Tuli said from across the room. 'They want to help you.' added Jaa.
Rose stood there a moment, at a loss for words, filled with the queasiness of knowing that this place didn't seem at all familiar, and with blue practically bouncing around in her head, shouting that they were home.
She leaned back against the wall wearily.
ANTIE-D walked out of the room in front of Rose. "You are quite right, Taran. She is herself, and yet, not. Definately an issue with the breaking of the mind. She must go to Lia Alit Iil-tia immidiatly. They are the only ones that can help her."
Taran nodded absently, but stared at Rose worriedly as she leaned against the wall, rubbing her temples.
"But, what do you think happened back up there?" Taran asked, referring to Rose's loss of consciousness.
"That seems to be our only problem. And one I may be able to nullify." ANTIE's screen display said, her voice clearer than her droid's.
Taran groaned. He was not used to the way this computer liked to switch outputs like that. It made one feel discombobulated.
The face on the screen melted away to reveal an object, and the screen showed it from all angles, rotating.
"Luman must have come back to Gaia, employing another type of control device. Such things are not very well done from a great distance. But he probably knew of your trip back to Gaia from what you told me, and he followed. The device he was using must be quite primitive. Probably only with an on and off function. Unchecked, he could litterally drop Rose from consciousness at any time, and return her back as well."
Rose stood up straight at that, and clenched her hands into fists.
"But if Rose would wear this, it would sheild her. And she could get to Lia Alit Iil-tia with no interference from Luman."
Rose laughed out loud, pointing up at the display. "You have got to be kidding me." she said, still laughing. "That? That is going to keep me from losing my mind to that maniac?"
ANTIE-D turned to face Rose, and the display screen suddenly became ANTIE's stern face once more.
"Yes." ANTIE-D and ANTIE chimed together. "And I expect you to wear it at all times, until you are cured!"
Rose felt like laughing until her sides split. Except they were serious. She looked over at Taran, who was suppressing a laugh as well. They both lost it, and starting laughing and howling. It was a good ten minutes before either of them were able to look at either ANTIE without laughing.
