Life Sucks
Chapter 1
I was sitting in my room doing my homework when BAM!!! I’ve literally been hit, hit by a bullet. I yell for my dad but a faint whisper comes out. I try again this time louder, I see him come in at least I think it is him and I’m out cold.
* * * * * *
I wake up in an unfamiliar bed; it’s a hospital bed. My first reaction is to jump out, but I’m restrained. There’s a piercing pain in my right shoulder. I think and my memory of earlier that night rushes to me, at least I hope that night. That’s right…Ahhhh.
“Brianna are you okay?” It’s my dad; I think to my self this gots to be a dream.
“Brianna are you okay?” My dad repeats.
I sit there blinking like its all a dream, I go to smack myself but again I am restrained from the intense pain in my right shoulder. That’s when I decide this is definitely not a dream, I’m in too much freakin’ pain. I look around taking in everything in, my dad is hovering over me, my mom is of course not there she has been dead for about 3 months, my sister is curled up in a chair, and my friends scattered about the room in chairs and on the floor.
“Yeah, besides the extreme pain in my shoulder,” I managed to get out.
“I’m ganna go get you something to eat, okay?” My dad said as he leaves room.
I look around again to see who is all here. Katelyn, Lynn, Zoë, Chris, Katie, and Em-J occupy the last of the seven chairs. On the ground to the right on the bed I see a black lump and a fluffy lump, I look harder and to my surprise it is Xavier and Blaze. I smile with delight not knowing why though. I scan the room one last time and I see Tyler lying at the front of the bed. My jaw drops and stays as I see a bunch of roses and stuffies on a table. I lie back down with shock and joy, also wondering how long they and I have been here. I close my eyes for a little as I lay in the warm sun. About five minutes later there is a shadow over me I cringe slightly and slowly open my eyes, and there stands Xavier.
“Hi!!” I say excitedly.
“Well hello there,” he laughs, “ so how you feeling?” he asks as he smiles.
“Okay, besides this pain I have in my shoulder” I laugh.
“Ohh that reminds me here” he bends down and lifts Blaze up onto the bed, “we felt like he would help.” Blaze still asleep.
“Awe thank you” I couldn’t stop smiling and petting Blaze, “how long have I been here??”
“About two weeks now”
My jaw drops and my eyes widen to there full extent. I stare blankly at him like he is joking. No, I couldn’t have been unconscious for that long, I mean I can’t sleep for more then a top 9 hours.
“And no I’m not kidding, you seriously have been here for two weeks. We all came here before and after school everyday, and your dad drove us to school and back. We’ve slept here every night.” Xavier explained.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so happy but at the same time sad.” Still in shock from everything.
Xavier cocked his head and raised his brow in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“Well I’m happy that you all have been here for me and sad that I am in here and have you guys come here.”
Xavier made a face of disbelief and moved his hands up and down as he exclaimed, "What the Hell?!?! What-How can you-its not like-" he sighs with exasperation and shakes his head
I lied back down thinking about everything that has happened. Trying to figure out why, who, and how I was shot. I sit thinking to myself, it makes no sense to me why, why and how and where it came from. I close my eyes for a moment to see if it’ll help me think.
“Is she awake X?” a couple of voices ask it sounds like Lynn, Chris maybe Katelyn and Tyler; I open my eyes to see Lynn, Katelyn, Chris, and Tyler standing around the bed as well as X.
“Bri!!!” They all scream practically “your awake!”
“Hi all, yes I am awake.” I sigh.
“Bri, oh my gosh you scared us to death!! We-I thought we had lost you,” Chris cries, tears of happiness, relief, and a few other things that I could not place in her eyes.
“Hey!!” Tyler said as he gives me a great big hug.
“Thanks Tyler, I needed that,” Then Lynn gives me one, then Chris, then Kate, and then X. “Thanks guys I really appreciate this,” I say with a sad smile.
“Ohh…”Chris says as she disappears out the door.
“Where’s she goin’?” I ask. Everyone shrugs.
The door flies open I see Chris come running in with Clay to my surprise. They are on the other side of the bed and push X to the end.
“See told you she was awake!!” Chris exclaimed to Clay.
“Yeah I see that, how are you feeling?” He asked.
“Can’t you see she’s in pain!?” X yelled.
“Stop please, if being shot isn’t enough you have to fight” I yell over the top of them.
“Yeah come on you guys,” Lynn snaps and Gibbs’ Xavier and Clay.
“Yeah, sorry Bri.” They both said as they exchanged dirty looks and Chris linked arms with Clay.
“Its okay, I’m okay considering I was shot.” I say with a smile, petting the now awake Blaze on my lap. Katie, Zoë, and Kelly were standing at the bed now.
