Rose, Taran, ANTIE-D, Niko and the gwees were simply trying to figure out what exactly was going on now, when it happened.
"Reavers." ANTIE-D said quietly.
"What?" Rose asked. Not sure she knew or understood what ANTIE-D had just said.
"Reavers." Taran said, turning to look at Rose. "They are vile space-dwelling flesh eaters. They ravage and destroy." He looked over at ANTIE-D. "Where?"
ANTIE-D shook her head.
"No." Taran answered. "They're not--!"
ANTIE-D nodded. "Onboard."
"This is bad." Taran said. He looked over to where Lord Avondale and Holly were. They were both pretty badly beaten up by now.
"Rose, you can stay--" Taran began.
"Oh heck no. You are not delegating me to being a shield for the ill people. Niko, Jaa and Tuli can do that!" Rose turned to the pets. "No offense meant." They all nodded in understanding.
"Are you sure--" ANTIE-D began.
"Sii-a Fliai!*" Rose shouted. "I'm not a child anymore! Let me be!"
Taran and ANTIE-D looked at each other. Taran had no idea what Rose had just said, but he was just as surprised to see ANTIE-D look almost as surprised. ANTIE-D knew what she said, but didn't know how she knew that.
"I think she'll be all right." ANTIE-D said. "Besides, we only fight if they break through the door."
Taran nodded half-heartedly. He knew his strength, and the android's. But he still did not understand Rose on many levels, and he always liked to know what odds he was dealing with in battle.

In the fairy language, Sii-a means wingless or flightless (which is an insult in a species that relies on their flight) and Fliai is a kind of slimy type of moss in some forests in the fairy worlds that adheres to trees and digests small mammals due to it's sticky and acidic texture.
