TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! I AM 20 YEARS OLD TODAY AND NO LONGER A TEENAGER!

One of my favorite threads in WG is the "draw the avatar above you" thread. I have so much fun drawing avatars and of course seeing how other people draw me! So I thought that here I'd show off the awesome avatar art people have been kind enough to give me. Thank you all so much! heart

Alright, I have to do this because I AM VERY UPSET.

Gaia has no respect for the English language. I try not to be a grammar nazi, I really do, but this just...bugs me. English is a beatiful language and I wish people would learn to use it properly. The pen is still mightier than the sword, but people seem to be using defective pens.

So here's a mini grammar lesson! Look at it as your impenetrable shield against the often vicious grammar nazis.

So for my first installment, I'm going to talk about one of my biggest pet peeves: using words that are different interchangably. We'll start with the infamous "there" problem.

There - You use this when you are referring to a place. Did you see that snobby EDer over there? But that's not the only time you use "there". I won't go into why (it's complicated), but there is also appropriate in a sentence like this: There is no way I'm letting you have my halo.

Their - You use this when you are talking about something a person has. An English major would call this a posessive pronoun, but all you need to know is that you use "their" when you are talking about a thing that belongs to someone. Their avatar looks so cool.

They're - This is a contraction, meaning that it's a shorter way of saying two words. "They're" simply means they are, so it's referring to the state of two or more things. They're fools if they really think Gaia is going to rerelease old MCs.

Now that wasn't so hard, was it? From now on you should be able to use "there", "their", and "they're" like a real pro. See what those grammar nazis have to say to THAT.
