So, everyone tells you how great highschool is. It's the most memorable years of your life. What you do in highschool decideds YOUR FUTURE.
I'm happy to say, most of that stuff, that any of those crazy fanatical overly-obsessed with popularity airheads tell you is BULLSHIT. 4laugh
You get to college, and you go on and on about how great your highschool was, or how wonderful you were at whatever, and people think you're either an arrogant p***k, or immature. Seriously. Highschool is great and all, and it will be the time of your life when you make some of your most treasured memories, but it's definitely not a life breaker. College isn't either, but I don't see why people treat it (highschool again) as a big deal.
All that drama, rivalries, all of that rediculousness goes down the toilet when you get to college. It really is a clean slate, a chance to start over as yourself, not trying to "fit in" amongst the thousands of cliques of highschool. That high and mighty attitude that seniors have in highschool dissappears in college too. They might be your upperclassmen, but they're also willing to be friends too.
Or at least, that's how it is for me. Art school is a wonderful blessing. I bet in bigger universities, with NCAA division sport teams, there's still a bit of those airs put on by those who carry the school's name on their shoulders, but when it's such a small number of people amongst a sea of many, who really gives a damn? What matters in college is where you're going, not where everyone else thinks you should go.
Hence, why I absolutely adore college so much. I'll be sad to see it go when it's over. It only feels like I've just begun, and already my first quarter has flown by, out the window to my memories. crying
