Ether Saga Online Beginners Guide
Version 1
Version 1
Getting Started
I'm going to assume that by now you've already signed up at the site, as well as downloaded, installed and patched your client. Currently ESO has two servers: West Coast (also known as Ancestral Ruins) and East Coast (also known as Fort Phoenix). It's always best to pick a server that is closest to where you live. Pick your server, and click Game Start. (If it isn't finished patching, or verifying files the button will be greyed out.)
Note: You'll notice in the loader that it also shows the server time, as well as server status. This can be useful if you're waiting for the servers to come back up after routine maintenance!
You'll be shown some notices, this is just recent news on patches and updates. After you enter in your user information, you're taken to the Realm list.
NOTE: You can have a total of 8 characters per server. Each character is available on every realm on that server. You can talk with friends on other realms of your server, but you can't see them.
Character Creation
ESO has three races. Ren, Shenzu and Yaoh. Each race
REN DESCRIPTION
SHENZU DESC
YAOH DESC
There are six classes in ESO: Rogue, Dragoon, Conjurer, Ranger, Shaman, Mystic.
Class Descriptions
Rogue
Weapon: Dual Blades
An extremely agile fighter. Very deadly in melee combat.
Dragoon
Weapon: Spear
A warrior of tenacity. Unyielding and fearless, Dragoons are the most trusted comrade on the battlefield.
Conjurer
Weapon: Invoken
Masters of spellcraft. Conjurers are elegant but lethal scholars who have the ability to harness the magic of passionate fire and merciless ice.
Ranger
Weapon: Bow
An uncannily accurate sniper. Specializes in ranged attacks with projectiles.
Shaman
Weapon: War Hammer
A master of nature. Shamans always stand first in line on the battlefield. Their War Hammers are fused with magic not only for combat, but to aid comrades as well.
Mystic
Weapon: Staff
Compassionate healers, Mystics aid party combat greatly. Alone, Mystics prove tough and resourceful.
DOB: Date of Birth. This can be pretty important. Your race, as well as DOB can determine special skills you get at certain levels. These skills are called Nascent skills. There are many different opinions on what skills would be good for each class, but it really comes down to personal preference. Here are two helpful links that will help you choose a DOB with skills that will benefit your class.

Depending on which race you picked, you'll start out in a different starting zone, so the area you start in will be different than that shown in my screenshots. But for now I'm just showing you the interface, so we don't need to worry about the rest.
