Introduction
Stumbling on winter white, the snow dripped into his worn tattered boots. He cautiously looked up, squinting his eyes at the battering cold. His winter white hair was blowing far in the wind, having not been cut in an age and a half. Adjusting his heavy bag, he continued, bringing a load no person could ever imagine carrying. A possession so rare, it left a trail of burnt chaos that no seed could ever repair. However, such a powerful item only took the physical form of a small red ruby. This ruby would determine the world's fate...
Journal Entry One
My name is Lavonn. I have short black hair, dark brown eyes, and 19 years of age. I am part of the Imperial's Hunters, a group of about 1000 men. We go around the lands, finding and slaying dragons. Personally, I have never laid my blade into dragon flesh. In fact, I actually adore the beasts. Im fond of the way they protect one another, and sacrifice themselves to save their family. I have experienced this first hand. The Hunters are vicious, and once a dragon is found, it will be hunted. A day, week, even months. Then without tatics, the Hunters charge upon the beast. Nets are dragged across it's wings, and then it is speared slowly to death. But they don't go down without a fight. They will take around 100 men with them. So why am I still alive? I have never participated in a dragon fight. I stay behind the ranks, and let the men run to the slaughter. However, soon I believe someone will catch on to me. If my secret love of dragons is found out, I will be treated like a dragon.
Chapter One
I woke up, startled. "Lavonn!" shouted a soldier reading names from a list. "Get up, quickly! We're marching to Elisa! The dragons been found!" The soldier had a red angry face, not a person I would want to know. "Wh...what part of the army am I in?" My words were hard to get out, dragged down by heavy sleep. The soldier smirked. "The gods shine on you today! You are in the front line, so...good luck with your life." And with my death sentence in place, he left without another word. "Front line..." I murbled to myself, still unable to process the words. I could never fight a dragon! Not only could I not allow myself to lay one strike, but they would rip me to pieces! Its not like I can walk up to them shouting "I am your ally!". To them, english is like pointless gibberish. I looked out of my makeshift tent. The sun was pushing itself above the distant hilltops, sending rays of light onto the Hunter's camp. In my head, I started to make choices, with their outcomes. I thought very hard.
I have to escape.
