Of Being Mostly Useless, and Of A Strange Warmth
Rose, and Being Mostly Useless
As they got to Dragon's house and she sent Nissa in, Rose waited patiently. Well, she would have been patient, if Nari hadn't decided that since they'd left the ship the ban on her talking came off, too, and Nari was talking Rose's ear off in Pixie language. Rose could only assume that Wynn thought the tinkling noise the little creature was making was cute, by her placid smile. Then again, Rose didn't know what Wynn could be thinking, since Wynn seemed to have no memories at the moment to be thinking about.
She was about to ask Dragon what was taking so long, when Nerissa's hologram form popped into view and told Dragon that someone or something had taken out Nissa.
As Dragon went forward, telling everyone to keep behind her, Rose lowered one eyebrow skeptically. Stay behind her, as in follow her? Or stay behind her, as in, safely, which would mean all the way up here where we are and where it is safe, without going in at all? Rose thought.
Looking over at Wynn, and realizing how helpless she would be if they were to follow, Rose shook her head.
"Dragon, I'm staying out here, unless you need me. In which case, Wynn is still staying here."
She wasn't about to let Wynn get killed... again. And she wasn't about to fail Kaku and let Wynn get killed on her watch. No way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Taran, and Being Mostly Useless
As Dragon and Rose and Wynn all left the ship to try to fix Wynn, Taran let his head fall back to the floor for a moment. After all, Rhonabwy and Alachia seemed to be busy, and everyone else was ignoring him, too. Which was fine for him. He wanted to blend in with the floor at the moment. He was frustrated. The way Rose had looked at him made him wonder what he had missed while he was unconscious.
And with people like Rhonabwy and Alachia onboard, that could have been anything. However, he didn't have time to dwell on it. He felt as if he had almost died this time, and his body was taking longer than usual to heal. He was used to healing fairly fast, and this... this was too slow. Rose, Dragon, and Wynn had left the ship, and he was unable to gather the strength yet to follow.
He stared up at the ceiling, and concentrated on his body. Rose had healed him quite well, but he had lost a lot of blood, and that had left him weakened. Turning his head to the side, he saw Rose's black cat.
"Niko." he whispered. "Can you get me a jug of water?" he asked it very quietly. Enough water might help him replenish his blood levels faster.
Niko nodded and ran off. Taran turned his head back to the ceiling, and tried to blend in with the floor still. Part of him wondered if the table wouldn't be more comfortable than the floor, but it was overwhelmingly hushed by the part of him that wanted to be invisible.
Se'rox, and A Strange Warmth
As Zuchax III approached- probably still unseen by the ignorant and annoying Kaku- Se'rox felt Kaku draw his sword. She shook her head, knowing what a stupid thing that was to do. He promptly got hit by snow and ice.
Not enough, though, as he spoke up again, after Zuchax III greeted them. Again, he was belligerent. Se'rox smiled slightly as she felt Zuchax III cover him in ice. At least now he'll be quiet she thought.
As she turned more of her attention back to Zuchax III, she could feel someone go up to the Iced Kaku and drag him away. She was interested to know who or why, but more concerned with being closer to Zuchax III for the moment- which made no logical sense to her.
He said he was happy to see her, which she knew to be not exactly true, but there was some kind of settled satisfaction that she knew to have whenever he was near. She supposed it was the same with him.
He threw her his jacket, and she quickly put it on. She had been so cold, and she knew that she had practically no clothing on. Only a bikini. At least, she hoped it was a swimsuit, and not just undergarments. That would be particularly unnerving.
"Thank you, Zuchax III. I was very cold." she said, feeling peculiar warmth after sliding the jacket on quickly.
"I think it might have helped if we had met before. Then he would not have been so eager to fight, and so unwilling to believe that I meant him no harm." She paused, considering. "I hope he does not banish me from the house."
Looking back towards Zuchax III (since she knew her head had been tilted away for a moment there, and that it eased people when she pointed her face at them she she spoke) she nodded.
"It is very good to see you again." she paused, feeling a strange movement in her stomach, and it made her uneasy. Leave it to Nobodies to not understand butterflies in the stomach. "Do... do you know where we are? Can we go home soon?" she asked. Her voice wavered, the butterflies interfering with her ability to talk normally, somehow. She looked flushed and pale at the same time.
She started walking towards Zuchax III, thinking only that she needed to be closer to him.
