Wow, two of those books are high in my favorites (Eragon and Artemis Fowl). And I, if I'm thinking of the same book, isn't it The Supernaturalists? As in plural? And, just to clarify, I'm refering to the book by Eoin Colfer about the creatures that take away pain, and only a few people that have had near-death experiences can see. I can't find my copy right now, so I'm not sure.
