"What? It's not true. I just act polite toward them and then they want to go out. But I say no." I explained.
"Nice cover up." Claire scorned. Something or someone had ticked Claire off, and that made me unhappy.
"Well, I believe him. So we should all calm down and enjoy lunch." Sydney said. I guess when Claire and I are mad it makes her uncomfortable. That's weird. Claire looked at Sydney and said something, bu I didn't hear what it was. There was a voice I didn't know talking in my head. I couldn't understand it. It was starting to annoy me. Annoyed I got up and went to my locker. As I turned the dial I heard heavy footsteps. That doesn't sound like Claire or Sydney. I couldn't smell their blood or hear their heartbeat. I frantically turned the dial faster and struggled to open my locker. The thing crept closer. My heart raced in my chest. Forget it. My book isn't worth my life. As the man, I guessed, came closer I dashed down the hall. He followed at the same speed. I ran a hard left, heading to the main office. Before I could touch the doorknob, a bag was over my head surrounding me with darkness. He put his arm across my ches and pulled my down the hall. I struggled to get free, but his grip was too stong. He pulled me outside and slammed me against the car. I felt his arm reach over my shoulder and open the car door. I elbowed him in the ribcage and took off the bag. He fell to the round so I kicked him in the face and darted back in the school. I ran back to my locker. As soon as I reached it someone slammed me face first into it. Then I was turned around. Sam. I sneered at him.
"Hello, emo." He snickered.
"I don't have time for this, Sam." I said. He shoved me into the locker harder this time.
"I don't care." He said. "You're just a sissy, aren't you? Same as your aunt." He tilt his head back and cackled. I saw the blood rush through his viens in his neck. My eyes grew wide with hunger. I glanced behind him and saw Claire and Sydney walking our direction. I can't let them see me like this. I had to think of something. And fast. I saw Sarah wak into a closet. Perfect.
"Is that Sarah walking in a closet with Chad?" Sam turned to see what I was talking about. Luckily the door closed just in time for him to see. He let go of me and raced down the hall. I hurried and changed into my spare tank top in my locker. NowI have to hide before Mr. Shady guy sees me. I sighed thne looked at Sydney. I grinned.
"Claire could you go get me a soda?" She looked at me then Sydney.
"Okay. Whatever." She walked back to the cafeteria. I could hear distinct footsteps heading my way. I grabbed Sydney and pinned her against the lockers then I kissed her. She gasped and I smiled. She dropped her purse and wrapped her arms around my neck. Without thinking, I slipped my hands down to her waist. I felt the man's coat brush against my back as he ran passed us. Five minutes later he dashed out the doors.
I pulled away and saw Claire gawking at us. Then I looked at the floor and saw my soda everywhere. Dang. Sydney was still in my arms and her head was leaning against my chest. I looked at our arms and stepped away from her.
"Sorry." I apologized. I wasn't really sorry for kissing Sydney. I smiled at the thought.
"You should be!" Claire screamed. "You send me to get you a soda just so you can have a ten minute make out with her?! You should be ashamed of yourself!" She yelled even louder as she grabbed Sydney's arm.
"Are you jealous 'cause you didn't kiss her?" I grinned. She glared at me.
Then she started pulling Sydney down the hall.
"Wait.." Sydney said."He was using me to hide from the man in the black suit. I should be ashamed for leading Jesse on.." She blushed. My mouth dropped open. She knew what I was doing. Clairegave me an apologizing look. I nodded in response and closed my locker.
