The Old Life, Chapter 24
"Saga I'm tired!" "You've been saying that for an hour now Boda," Grimu groaned. "That's because I am tired." "If you were tired you'd be walking really slow and very far behind us." Boda made this face -3- while grumbling. Suddenly I stopped, sensing a huge amount of movement coming from the ground. Without a word I jumped into the trees Grimu following. Boda on the other hand just looked at us confused. "What are you guys doing?" We didn't say anything just looked at her. "Guys....?" Suddenly the ground under her trembled with great force. She gasped at the sudden movement as the ground started to crumbled. Jumpping onto the branch, me and Grimu were on, a giant worm shot out of the ground it's mouth wide open with many little sharp teeth in it. The worm wiggled back into it's hole realzing nothing was on the ground with it. "Why didn't you guys tell me somthing was coming?" "You should be able to sense things on your own Boda," I spoke to her in a stern voice, "Besides Vocami taught us how to do that." "Well sorry I failed you Boss!" Boda yelled then jumped off into another tree continuing our journey to the tower. Sighing Grimu placed his hand on my shoulder, "You know she doesn't remember everything." "....Yah" Two hours later we capmed down, having dried berries for a small meal.
The next day we just relaxed. Mostly sleeping, tracking down the animals for fun, and battling other teams that needed scrolls. We didn't take thier scrolls after the battle, only give them advice on how to fight better when they meet another team. Surprisingly none of them tried to steal ours. Hopefully they take our advice and win. It all depends in thier attitudes when the need to fight appears. Skipping through our travels, we finally made it to the tower. Gaara's team was there and so were other teams. One of them I remembered from the group of kids that were making a lot of noise. A girl who was very quiet and seemed very sweet, a very active guy with his dog on his head. the last one interested me the most. I don't know why really he seens just like a normal, cool, quiet guy. But something about him makes my skin claw. As if spiders were clawing all over me; I dislike spiders! Maybe I'll learn more about him in the next challenge. Sooner or later the other teams arrived at the tower meeting thier instructors when they open thier scrolls. We saw, of course, Vocami.
Finally, things were getting started. Our guide was a sickly looking guy, can't remmeber his name. We were going to fight one on one, with someone of another team. But first one of us had to leave because there were too many of us. Only one left and to my surpirse it was Kabuto. I wanted to know what he was doing here. Maybe Orochimaru was interested in me again and wanted Kabuto to come and get me. Well I'm not going, I have friends and family now. They need me to be there for them and that's right now.
While we were walking up the stairs I saw Ranale and his group. His teammates were Kimimaro and Sakon/Ukon, but they were in disguise. Me and two face don't get along but Kimimaro yes, yes we do. Tayuya was thier instructor. Ranale smiled and waved at me trying to get my attention. It ws good to see him but he just reminded me of his father. He had gotten paler and his eyes were the same but more narrower with black liner under and above his eyes.
The batles before mine were most intertaining. Especially Shino's; he uses bugs to do his work, which freaks me out. "The next battle is...," the sickly man spoke after coughing heavily then looked over at the screen. The huge tv buzzed deciding on who to chose to fight next. Soon it stopped, showing my name and Sakon's/Ukon's name, Shin. "The battle will be between Saga Saland and Shin Pray." I wasn't going to go all out but not easy on him either. (I don't feel like typing on what happened, i'm tired) After all the battles the remaining people were Naurto, Sauske, Shino, Gaara, Kankuro, Temari, Neji, me and Grimu, Tokai, Nyatta, and Marashi.
