Rose, Sahm, and Kyrre; Crossing the Ocean To Southern Gaia

Shortly after dawn the three arrived at the shore. Sahm had been right, and they had an hour before tide would turn. Kyrre scurried off to retrieve the hidden raft, and Sahm sat on the shore near Rose. It was the first time he'd gotten a moment to talk to her alone.

"So. Were you and your Dad close?" Sahm asked.

Rose nodded. "After Mom died, he was all the family I had." she laughed a little.

"What?"

"Well, for as much as Mom and Dad loved me, they sure didn't love themselves." Rose answered cryptically.

Sahm's raised eyebrow asked the unspoken question; what?

Rose smiled and sighed slightly. "They took great care in raising me. Even appointed me a Godmother just in case. But they never told me about their heritage. I actually grew up thinking I was human for most of my life. A really magically inclined, weird human."

"Um... didn't the uh, wings and tail kind of give it away?" Sahm asked

"If I'd had them more than just a few years ago now, ya. But apparently, my parents had some nifty blocking magic on me. My Mom's work, I guess. Maybe even my grandmother helped..." she trailed off. "But anyways, after Mom died, the magic lessened, until I realized I could summon a fox tail, ears, and fairy wings. I was starting to think I was crazy, but my Dad just told me I was magical. Then he got me into magic academy." Rose explained. And then I finally met Chazu and Dragon and Zeneeba, and realized that some magic is inherent, and that was me. And that doing is a faster learning experience than reading. she thought.

Kyrre had walked up while Rose was explaining, and just nodded.

"Well, this," Kyrre said, gesturing to the raft, "is ready to be packed with some food. Why don't we get that together before its time to go."

Sahm shook his head and pointed to Kyrre. "He's all business now. But he relaxes... sometimes." Sahm said, and, at a look from Kyrre, laughed and added. "Once in a blue-fox moon."

An hour later, and they had shoved off from the shore of Northern Gaia. Rose hadn't even realized there was a Southern Gaian continent. Apparently, since it was smaller, many people took it for granted.

But Kyrre and Sahm were handling the raft, and didn't need Rose. So she changed into a bikini top and shorts (via summoning-changing) and a pair of headphones, and laid out on the raft. She fell asleep listening to her music after only a few minutes.

Sahm and Kyrre took turns talking strategy and voicing curiousness about their interesting charge, asleep in a swimsuit on a raft in the ocean.
