to see what type of person I was. We stared at each other for a few moments before speaking, then he gave up his smile slowly, turning slowly into his favorite indifferent expression. I looked at him seriously and I began to tear up. He was back to normal. His voice the same one I hear in my dreams. The same voice that I beckon to, screaming, afraid to lose it whenever I wake up. It was him. He gave me a look of concern as he saw the tears in my eyes spill over, my soft sobbing killing my excuse that I was not crying. He wiped my tears from both my eyes and I pulled him to me until our bodies touched and my cheek touched his in a warm embrace. “What’s this all about?” He asked, utterly confused by my behavior. “I thought you were lost forever! You have no idea!” I said hysterically, my voice hyperventilating and I began to wet his shirt with my tears. I had thought long and hard what I was going to say to finally confess to him. Here goes everything… “Gabriel,” I began. My voice sounded like a whisper because I was afraid of his reaction. But to him it sounded like my normal voice because I was right next to his ear. “I’m not your new tutor…” He gave me a surprised look as I said this. “But you told me--” “It was a lie. I just wanted to be close to you. Do you understand?” he was giving me a perplexed look, not understanding one bit of what I just said… “I love you…” I finally dared to say. I waited for chaos to sprout and take me away before he said anything. The last tears I had in my eyes came out as I thought of this. He just took it in and he just sat there. I waited impatiently, wanting to know his thoughts on this subject. “Why would someone love me?” I heard his mind ask. What did he mean by that? Did he think he was unlovable? Was I actually too beautiful like my sister has often said to me, though I constantly deny that with every once of my being? I didn’t understand. Why did he ask such a question. Then his embrace tightened, his breathing was a little speedier. In a desperate attempt to keep him with me, I just clawed my hands right into his back and I wanted to never let him go. He was precious in every way to me, despite the fact that it was just love at first sight. Time was still frozen, but it feels like we’ve been like this for hours. All we did was embrace each other, occasionally shifting positions. After a few seconds, I looked at him and gave him a smile, hoping that it illuminated him as his smile did to me. He smiled back. A seductive smile played on his lips, brightening his eyes. I could see him considering and reacting to my words from a long time ago. He kissed me on the cheek and I blushed a scarlet red, which reminded me of my sister… Who was still caught in the frozen timeline… I looked at my surroundings and saw the place was still frozen. Nothing had changed. The illusion of time passing I created in my mind was not actually happening. “We have to go back. They’re waiting for us.” I looked at Hina when I finished my sentence. He gave me a sullen expression. “Do we have to?” he asked, a joke in his expression, I could tell. “Yes!” I said, startled by his question. It came out sharper than I imagined, but at least I got him to his feet. He joked at me by giving me a dirty look that looked phony. “Well?” He asked. “Aren’t you the one that can turn time back to normal? Go ahead then.” He said, sadness in his voice. Did he want to stay in this empty, frozen world with me? Why? A relationship cannot make progress without a little time to speed things up, little by little. I closed my eyes and concentrated as I focused on the spell I was whispering in Latin. I was sure Gabriel had seen my quick, faint blue glow as I time started to move again. He shot me that phony dirty look like I’d just done something I wasn’t supposed to do. Hina came to hug me with an excited smile on her face and was waiting for me to spill the details of our first conversation. The man with the long hair approached me. He crossed his arms and scrutinized me with
