Is all I can say while tears still well.
In melancholy I've lately dwell.

Descriptions of these...
Pumps and drains
that drip like rain.
And my thoughts of your battle scars are these...
Knives and saws
that cut like claws.

Your cells turned on but won't turn off.
Music can only do so much.

I love you mom...
Finally from the hospital comes your freedom.
The dogs and I have missed you like crazy.
You and your open wounds missing their stitches.

I've yet to learn to cope,
but forget it-
