I wanna be someone’s perfect

Staring into the mirror,
I pinpoint everything wrong with me,
I lay in bed staring at the ceiling,
I pinpoint everything wrong with who I am,
I try to give myself credit for things I know I excel in,
But compared to my failures,
Any success I have seems like an ant from an airplane,
When I’m around people that matter to me,
I change to what they like,
I can be a badass to my badass friends,
I can be innocent to my innocent friends,
I can be anything at any time I want,
But when it comes to you,
You,
The one that I try and try and try to be my best,
You don’t care,
You may care about me as a person,
But you never think of me,
You never think to talk to me when you’re down,
You don’t know I’m here and you don’t care,
You turn to them,
And leave me in the dust,
I try to make myself known around you,
But if you notice me you just don’t want anything to do with me,
You say I’m not your type,
Yet we have so much in common,
You don’t see it but I do,
If they weren’t in the picture,
Would you give me a chance?
Probably not, but I could at least fantasize that way,
I can fantasize about anything,
One thing I wish I didn’t have to fantasize about is being someone you want,
But I’m not for you,
So if I’m not for you,
Nor any other “yous” I’ve had,
Then there’s only one thing I want,
I wanna be someone’s perfect.
