It doesn't take long until you're founded for something they want to discover. She was hauled away from her hearth and dragged by her hair to the wagon where she was shackled.
The trial was a joke. The jury all knowing her guilt before she'd entered the church, which served today as her courtroom. The choice of placement was not subtle. Her sentence, laid out well in advance, as death.
Hanging to be exact.
As one prodded her up the steps, she fell, sprawled, sobbing at their feet, so they dragged her up and tied the noose. She stammered out prayers beneath tears. One for her God fearing soul; the other for another life held in a harsh cool calm of the arms of the preacher's wife. She had gotten what she had wanted and as the rope went taut she had succeeded. Only the sound of the infant's cry could be heard over the dead silence of the village center.

Things I write for no apparent reason other than to pass the time. Most stories have no endings, but contain an awful lot of meaningless dialogs. Other entries are basically boring life occurrences that have nothing to do with my stories whatsoever.
